To be fair to Williams, it's not like the rest of our midfield even attempts to get forward quickly and he's just incapable of it or something.

It seems to be tactical, which is just as much the problem as the personnel.

I couldn't agree more. However, Ellinger should be a topic for another thread...official "Get Rid of Ellinger" campaign.

But, you saw today, I would like to assume it's not true, but it's almost as if Williams refused to make that final pass foward.

He has got to go...

He has got to go...

Then why not post this back in October and not now? Did I miss you calling for this? If not, I hope you understand why this leaves me feeling like it's just a knee-jerk reaction after 1 mediocre game.

I have felt that he needed to go since last season. I did post it on one of the threads last season. Look, I'm not a fair-weather fan, and as a player (rec, comp, city, doesn't matter what level we've all played at) we've all had a bad game or two, but Williams is consistantly showing he doesn't belong on this squad.
Instead of seeing him flap his arms like a bird, I'd like to see him own up to some of his mistakes.

He has got to go...(I'll settle for be replaced)

I can't remember seeing worse passing out of the back in my lifetime. If he wasn't hitting a Chivas player at their feet with the the ball then he was hanging out our players to dry with 50-50 medicine balls.

Review the film and his pass completion percentage has to be in the teens.

The mids can't do anything on offense if they never recieve the ball from the back line.

Balouchy did alright for his first career start. I look forward to seeing more from him.

100% correct!!!!!!!!!!!! I couldn't agree more

Try talking to the guy... he is the first person to criticize himself when he doesn't play well.

Beside the fat that he is very approachable... he know when he doesn't hold up his end of things and will openly admitt it. He usually follows that up by saying what he is trying to do to get better.

Okay, kudos for him. By the way, I'm not attacking him as an individual. As a player he needs to SHOW the differences. Face it, he didn't cut it there last year, and wont this year. He played better on the left side last year, in all honesty.

Williams sucked last night. He was one of the worst players on the pitch. His services sucked.

I really think the problem with Williams is he's playing out of position. I don't see the creativity he needs to be A-mid, and the amount of time he spends with the ball at his feet is ruining our tempo. Plus he's not big enough to win challenges with those big central defenders; that was evident yesterday. If he can show he's committed to play defense (and I think he is), he should move out to left mid.

By the end of the year he and Mehdi will have switched places. It's just a matter of getting Mehdi some experience, and with the minutes he's playing, it might not be long before you see that switch.

I believe it is certainly too early to be calling for anyones head.

I am the glass is half full guy when it comes to the team... but that attitude was shaken to the very core yesterday...

Obviously we as fans expected to see marked improvement from last season and alot of us feel we didn't... OK we didn't, but that may be because the guys thought it was going to be easy or something.

I think maybe they now know it is not going to be easy.

Over the next few games we need to see that marked improvement... if not, then we can start calling for heads, and charging our starting 11 for tickets to the matches...

I think we should start Akwari and Watson next week... they seemed to have had a profound effect on Ruiz last season and if nothing has changed with other stuff maybe that will have remained the same as well.

That was a dreadful first match but now that is out of the way... we don't have to fear it anymore... Lets get with the program guys... or stay home next time...
The sky is not falling... but it certainly seems a bit lower! Especially when toward the end of the match I heard myself and others saying... Please at least score one f'ing goal! That is certainly a lower expectation than I had before the match started and I could not help but think... here we go again!
