I certainly hope that was a fluke but by the way I felt halfway thru the first half was strangely similar to the way I felt for most of last season... Like an empty pit in my stomach that kept being gashed wider each time the team stood around and watched the game...
I mean in all seriousness... charge those 11 guys for tickets next time they show up like that... cos most of them had the best seats in the house... The only thing they didn't have was a cold beer and a recliner, although some of them moved like they might have been carrying both in their back pockets.

Sad Game What a disaster! What a way to take all of the hope of the off season and throw it out the window! That isn't true. All of my hope isn't gone and I will still be in the stands supporting the team 100%...but what the hell!? What a disheartening defeat! The team just seemed disorganized. I hate to say it but I am starting to feel like the the clock needs to be ticking for Ellinger. I am frustrated because of what could happen here in SLC. The longer we suck the more the borderline fans will stay away. The lower the attendance the more ammunition city councils and other politicians have to not support the stadium. If the team could put together a good product on the field, soccer could blow up here. We could have an amazing area for soccer. It just requires a good product on the field and some wins wouldn't hurt. Hopefully this loss was just a bump on the road, but it was a lousy way to start. And if things don't get turned around soon I will have to join the fire Ellinger group, because we can't hope to achieve the area's soccer potential with a disorganized and sorry (even though I love them) team. Let's hope they turn it around and soon.

So we are down 2 goals on the road.
We can't put 2 passes together. Do we maybe bring in Watson and try some Route 1 & see if he can run on to the ball or if we can find Atiba's head with some Utah Blitzz/Norway/Wimbledon-ball? No, we bring on a D Mid. I think Fraser was a good commentator and I hope they find someone good to replace him when he becomes coach.

Aren't folks being a bit simplistic? Bringing Cutler on did let Williams push up further. Isn't that the same difference as bringing on a striker? And if you bring a striker on at that point, who's going to hunt the ball down and get it back?

UGH--we heard the score at our home opener last night, then came home and watched the taped game. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I have to agree with what a lot of you have said--they looked like last year's team, just different names an faces. I thought the changes that were made for the back line was supposed to improve the defense. hmmmm makes me wonder what the real problem is/was........

If not, it's going to be another long season for RSL.

I figured some of you would be having kittens over this.....not that you're wrong, but it's still early. I should mention I called this result thanks to Chivas being a much better team this year. What I really want to see is how RSL does next week. Even a good loss would be encouraging. Here are some things I noticed:
1. How do you allow a man to settle a 30 yard pass on the ground when he's at the top of your 18? He should never even be allowed to touch that ball. 2. Rec leagues mark tighter off the ball than RSL. I see so much ballwatching that it doesn't take much to lose an RSL defender. Bring me to practice John, I know a great drill for that. 3. I said this last year and I'll say it again: When is this Chris Brown at fullback experiment going to end? 4. Atiba Harris = Melvin Tarley 5. The Jazz are no longer the only team in Utah with a turnover problem. And it seemed like these turnovers were not while trying to thread difficult passes, it was more like "would you like the ball, Mr. Razov? Here you go." 6. It seems RSL has forgot the old adage the most dangerous guy on the field is the guy who had the ball last. On the rare occasions where I saw a good pass, it wasn't followed up with a run to space. I'd hate to see us start panicking now. Let's see how things go in Texas.

I've believed all along that Bradley is one of the shrewdest coaches in MLS. He has assembled a formidable team. Razov tore us apart. And Bradley's team was very organized and mobile.
It looked like a high school team vs. a college/pro team last night. Ellinger should be embarrassed. I'm beginning to feel that Ellinger is having a hard time making the jump to MLS. __________________

Oh Hell you're right, we have to play FC Dallas next. And they're good. This is going to be ugly.
