MLS Cup Watch Party

We have arranged for a watch party for the MLS Cup. It will be at the SkyBox in the Gateway in Salt Lake. The SkyBox needs an approximate head count so they can make sure we have enough space and they have enough staff. Please reply to and let us know if you plan to join us Sunday. I will be letting the SkyBox know our numbers Friday evening. Anyone and everyone is welcome to join us, so bring your friends and family. But, please let me know about how many you think you will bring.

If you don't RSVP or decide later to come... feel free to show up. We need numbers to show them that it is worth their time to turn off football and basketball for us on a regular basis.

Kearns representing; well, to the extent that anyone is

I made up some flyers, plagiarizing Dysko's message & adding some graphics & a title.

I handed out one to one of the 2 other soccer fans at work (we used to have several dozen; a post for a different board).

I took some to the under-8 indoor game that I coached tonight. (We won, and better yet, we beat a team wearing Earthquake/Wizard blue)

Needless to say, most parents at the game have previous plans on Sundays; but a few people seemed interested. No one committed, though.

At 9AM I will be on my way to Vegas until Thursday afternoon. Business, not pleasure, although it always ends up a little of both. I wish I could be there on Sunday because I really want to be, but instead I will be discussing PHP security and session highjacking with a bunch of nerds. I'll be there in spirit however.

I'm only a little bit jealous. Someday *I* will be that nerdy too. (Time to go get PHP for Dummies from the library.....)

Ha ha... I said that only 50% jokingly. The honest truth is that I've been thinking about learning PHP and actually had that book on hold at the library a few weeks ago.... Never got my hands on it, but I've been thinking about going back for it!

I can't wait. What time do we want to get things started?

Hey, Jose Luis, if it's not a problem for you, maybe you could email your flyer to me? I could hang a few up.

Thanks to you both!

I did it at work in about 5 minutes, and I didn't save it. So I would have to scan it. Yes, I am living in 1993 and I have a dialup connection; so it would probably take you less time to do this:

1) I copied Dysko's message into Word (Word Perfect would work, too).

2) I made "Gateway" and "Skybox" bold.

3) I added a title saying "Sunday, 130 PM MLS Cup Final"

4) I stole a few pictures from mlsnet.com to make it look pretty.

That's a good question about what time to start. It's best not to rely on me; because I will be there with a 3-year-old.

Thanks for the tips. I did basically the same thing and hung some around the office.
Game time is 1:30. I'm going to try to be there by 1:00.
