Yes that... and the fact that Larry Miller and Dave Checketts have a chequered past and The Larry man likes to be the biggest fish in the pond and Uncle Dave is muscling in on his pond!

That fat bastard is going to have a heart attack any day now. Can't he just enjoy his success/wealth for his few remaining days and let someone with a vision try something new?

Larry H Miller paid for the Delta Center out of pocket. But I think that city paid for franklin covey field.

Just like how Checketts wants to pay for the stadium out of pocket. Larry Miller had public funding for infrastructure improvements and purchasing land, as far as I know. He may have paid for the structure himself, but that is what Checketts wants to do as well.

Miller got $20 million from the SLC RDA for the Delta Center, which is why when the lease runs out in 2039 or so SLC will own it. The same type of financing occurred with FC Field, but of course Larry wasn't involved in the original transaction. He does currently own the debt, of course, and I'm still waiting for some enterprising soul to suggest that Larry pony up the public cost of the private enterprises he's making money from. Just to be fair, of course.

i have had a couple of calls these past couple of week where the rsl ticket rep told me reasons to buy tickets. each time they told me they would be hosting an extremely famous team and that ticket was part of the season package like the extra ones for universidad catolica and harbor view were.

Real Salt Lake will host "the most famous team in soccer" this summer

Although I still think it is Real, there is a chance it could be Barca:

There is word circulating that Barcelona will play some matches on US soil in August as they prepare for next season. Here are the dates and opponents that are supposedly being prepared:
v LA Galaxy August 6, 7 or 8
v DC United August 9 or 10
v New York August 11 or 12
