Ballouchy and Johnson!

Honestly, I'm kind of excited that we took a midfielder. I'm ready for 2006!

I'm also kind of excited that our pick isn't 16 and that he'll be playing good minutes this year.

🙂

And our draft pick has cool hair.

Which is always important.

More Moroccans around here = A bigger market for tabouleh.

I don't think most folks are suprised by this pick. Some were thinking Sturgis but , as we saw, Ellinger + company weren't.

Whether or not he's going to cut it in the MLS, we'll find out. We do know the midfield needs some more quality. I hope he does well.

I'm a little surprised; everything I heard from Ellinger was that RSL would take a G-a player. If I'm not mistaken Ballouchy isn't one. So we have to count his salary against the cap - how much cap room do we have anyway?

So I'm a bit surprised, but not in a bad way. So does Ballouchy have what it takes to start in the a-mid spot? What does this do to our potential lineup? Can Kreis move back up to forward? If he's good enough to contribue major minutes right away, here's how I see things:

------------Garlick------------
-Cabrera-Pope-Akwari-Broome-
-----------Sequiera-----------
-Williams------------Scarlett?-
-----------Ballouchy----------
-----Kreis-------Cunningham--

That's not a bad team on paper. Then again, last year's team wasn't bad on paper either.

Good point about the G-A. Wonder what RSL in Ballouchy that sets him apart from, say, Kljestin.

How is that name pronounced anyway? Buh-LOOCH-ee ? I'm already cringing anticipating the nicknames that this board will come up with for the poor guy.
