RSL #2 in season ticket sales Loyal1 told me last night that RSL is #2 in MLS for total season ticket sales.
Only LA was higher. WOW!

This is a VERY good sign! Hopefully it continues to be the case. Wouldn't it be awesome if we were second in attendance this season? I would think that would help the stadium public bond situation a bit.

For a minute, I thought I might e-mail this stuff to the I'm-Bitter-Because-I-Don't-Get-Free-Gas-Anymore Brigade, but then I reconsidered, since I'm pretty sure none of them would actually READ constituent e-mail. 😉

You should email them anyway! Be sure to include all the rep you got for your last two posts and a link to this thread...

This is great news. A big season-ticket base is great anyway, not to mention it will shut up a lot of naysayers.

Somebody need to clue in this guy. .
Pardon my Forest Fan impersonation; but Mr Jorgenson did not own a soccer team. He owned a Training Exercise team. He did not go to San Diego to watch soccer (unless the Gauchos were playing or maybe he went to a Mexico/MFL match there). I suspect that he went to watch the Sockers play a Training Exercise. Someone needs to tell Doug Robinson that it is not 1978.

Ridiculous article. Comparing the Freezz to MLS? Did this guy even do any internet research before puking this out?
I point out that most non-soccer DesNews writers (aka not James Robinson) are pretty hard on RSL. They may dress it up as protecting the ppl, but in reality they are just biased towards soccer and the stadium plan. Its Anti-Soccer Propaganda.

drob [at] desnews.com Ever heard of the Blitzz??? Probably thumbed your nose at them as well, huh? They were doing quite well for a 3rd division team. Record attendance. Championships. A solid fan base. Enough to show MLS what a promising market Salt Lake is. With Real Salt Lake coming to town, they have unfortunately stepped aside. That's how it goes I guess. We're moving up. Soccer is growing in this country weather people like you like it or not. MLS clubs that struggled when the league started are doing quite well these days. Ticket sales are up substantially. Many clubs are building their own stadiums. Why? Because the fan base IS growing. People are discovering for themselves (despite diatribes like yours) the passion and excitement most of the world already enjoys in soccer. If you don't like soccer, fine, don't buy tickets. But don't tell your neighbor not to buy them. Have a dissenting opinion? No problem, but don't color the facts to suit your opinion. Just because the News has given you a voice, doesn't entitle you to the right to try and tear down something just because you don't like it. What do you hope to accomplish by declaring RSL a failure before they even get started? Just trying to prove you're opinion is right, perhaps? Quote:
