Sequiera (CDC) 44 fouls, 5 yellows, 0 reds, 2070 minutes. Now for comparison: Trembly (RSL) 38 fouls, 8 yellows, 0 reds, 1176 minutes. That's right, Trembly has almost the same number of fouls and almost double the cautions in half the minutes. Hmmm, maybe Trembly's the real hack. Of course, we don't see it that way because he's RSL. I suspect that we label Sequiera a no-class hack because he played for Chivas and we've generalized all their players as hacks. The fact is, Sequiera for Dunny is a great trade for RSL because it makes us immediately better (spare me the posts about the quality of Chivas' D last year - Sequiera wasn't the only guy back there). Let's keep an open mind about him, because I bet when he's "hacking" in an RSL uniform we'll just call it tough defense.

I agree that Sequiera (not Douglas, thank you) is an upgrade for RSL, but I think he will always be labeled a hack for getting the red card in the WCQ.

Don't you think it is a little silly and harsh to label someone a hack simply because they received one red card?

No, I decided that he was a hack by watching him play. For me it isn't a anti-Chivas thing. It is a I don't like the way Sequeira behaves while on the field thing. There are already players on RSL that I wish wouldn't be such hacks or cry babies. I don't think we need another one. I think that Sequeira is one of those guys that is always pushing the line with cheap shots. He always seems to be in the refs face. I don't like either of those traits. I usually pick which player I am going to berate during the game by their behavior on the pitch during that game (everyone gets a clean slate each game...I do probably have a shorter fuse w/ some guys though). Whenever Sequeira was in town (3 Chivas game and the WCQ) it seemed like I was berating him for his hacking and whining. It is just my opinion. You apparently don't share it. I don't think that it is immediately clear whether we will be better w/ Sequiera or not. Sure Sequeira wasn't the entire problem w/ the Chivas D as Dunny wasn't the only problem w/ our D. They were both however a part of defenses that had some serious problems. Sequeira may be quality, but I am going to reserve that judgement until I see him prove it to me on the pitch.

Does that change the fact that most ppl will think he is one because of it? No. He can easily change this perception in Utah once he performs on the field and gets the job done. Then everyone will forget (well except Chivas fans or something).

You got a new MLS team thats going to build a stadium. I have a failing NBA team (well you got that too) and a college that is excited to win Conference USA football! On-Topic I was wondering, besides Garlick, what other GK in MLS should RSL pursue? Foss? Perkins? Casser? I personally think we should go after one of the Crew keepers, Busch or Walker.
