You claim to have supported them for 8 years, but sitting in your living room to watch the games on TV (when they are actually on since the Crapids don't broadcast many of their games) doesn't exactly qualify as support. Being at the stadium, rain or shine, win or lose, standing the whole time cheering your team on for every home game, going to watch parties with other team supporters for away games, and going to reserve games is what I would call a supporter. Your just an internet rocket science masquerading as a team supporter.

Again, get back to me when you at least buy a season ticket.

Wow, how the air up there on that high horse? Must be a little thin, as you're sounding a bit oxygen starved in your posts.

4 games, 0 season tickets. Apparently FSL supporters only measure support by money spent and not dedication to the team. In case you were wondering I helped set up Rapidsfan.com and been part of the "staff" (if you can call us that) since it started, moderated one of the Rapids forums back when the Rapids ran their own message board, chaired the committee of 10 for the Rocky Mountain Cup, been a River Rat and a Class VI member, had the Direct Kick package every year since 2000 (When it was first available in Bellingham), watched every televised Rapids game, used the Internet to listen to the radio broadcast of the non televised games, and personally helped to build the FSL - Rapids rivalry by pissing off a bunch of people on the RSL.org, BigSoccer FSL forum, and RCB forums.

But yeah, I'm not at all a supporter of the Rapids because I haven't spent $300 a game to fly into Denver and watch them play for 12-16 games every season for 8 years. Poor me. Thank you for showing the error of my ways! I'll renounce my Rapids support for ever more and from now on I'll only support teams where I can financially afford to go to every game! 🙄

If watching games on TV counts as die-hard support, then I am happy to say that my cat is totally hardcore. And stuff.

I'm just riding the rocket you built, Mr. Rocket Science.

I don't recall saying anything at all about money. I was talking about supporting the team. You can't really support the team from your living room. Most of the activities I mentioned didn't cost anything if you didn't want them to (watch parties and reserve games).

Like I said, you are a internet rocket science. Posting on a message board does not equal supporting a team.

All 4 of them? Wow you are dedicated.

You think we are pissed off? That couldn't be farther from the truth. We are all laughing our a$$es off at you. You are pure rocket science entertainment. We keep you around because we need a clown to laugh at and you fit the bill as well as anyone I have ever seen. You are a big joke. No wonder you are a Crapids fan.

Yeah tidee bowl man... I mentioned money when I said that "you obviously measure the extent of your support by a meager $300..."
he didn't say it... I did...
also I don't hear you talking aboput your 7 of 8 winning seasons anymore... why is that?
is it because you measure a winning season by making the playoffs and since all but two teams made the playoffs in MLS each year (from 1998-2004) then your measuring stick just got a lot shorter didn't it.

Face it your sorry excuse for a team and supporters can still be the losers that we all know that they are (and so do you, deep down...) even if they make the playoffs 8 of 8 times... hmmmmm... interesting when you know the whole story innit...
I certainly hope you don't form conclusions as a rocket science, as you do when defending the cRapids, using only part of the data....

that is bad science man...

How exactly does a watch party or a reserve game not cost any money if I live in Seattle/Phoenix and the party/game is in Denver?

To be more accurate then, I guess you can only be a supporter if you live in the greater metro region that the team is located in and/or can afford to travel to the metro area for games, watch parties, reserve games, etc?

You can still be a supporter.

JasonMa,
You have mentioned living in Washinton and Arizona. Why exactly are you a Rapids fan? Do you have any ties to Colorado? Family? Born there? Help me out.

Ahhh, now you are starting to understand, Grasshopper. Let's put it this way, you can't! That's why you aren't a supporter of the team.

Yep, pretty much. You can be a fan of a team that you can't attend games to, but you can't be a supporter. Supporting a team involves a lot more than sitting in your living room or at your computer. I'm glad to see you are finally seeing my point. What you call support doesn't really measure up.

At the time I started following soccer (1998 pre-WC) I lieved in Seattle. I had seen the Nats play Russia in 1994 in the Kingdome, and the big talk that night was Chris Henderson getting to wear the Nats jersey in his hometown. I went looking for him in the league and found him on the Rapids. About the same time I found out that Hahnemann who was a manager in my divison at mt company was Marcus Hahnemann's father, who was also playing for the Rapids at the time. So I became a Rapids fan to follow those players.

As for a difference between a supporter and a fan, lets just say that we agree to disagree and leave it at that.
