C. The most logical way to make a profit is by getting people to buy tickets and attend games

So I always see small crowds as a threat to the long-term success of MLS and RSL. Someone tell me things are gonna be all right because of... you know... that one thing.

I agree with you. When I see the low attendance figures, I don't think "we're better than you", I think "how long are we gonna last with attendances like that".

Thats an unfortunate normal statistic.

Ya, that was going to be part of my point. The MLS as a whole has really dropped the ball when it comes to attendance in the playoffs.

As for the Rapids, I wouldn't worry too much about them yet. I think Kroenke has a lot of work to do to undue the years of neglect under Uncle Phil.

Because the CRapids, as the away team, refuses to broadcast it. Whats really said is that Kroenke and company own there personal sports network, Altitudes. But they would rather show NHL regular season Avs match. Could they tape delay the CRapids/Dallas match? Yes, but they would rather REPLAY the Avs game AGAIN right after it is over. Pathetic.

.

Hey, Prime, stay away from hurricanes. You have some Schwag headed your way.

On my Dish, there's about 4 or 5 regional sports networks now for Colorado like Altitude, Fox Sports Rocky Horror, etc.

We all know that the repeat of an Avs game will generate higher ratings and more ad sales than the Rapids.

But they couldn't put it on Fox Sports Rocky Mountain 6 or something like that?

Wow, the heavens have parted, and someone in Denver saw the light.

CRapids vs. FCD leg 2 now on TV via Direct Kick. (I believe but not confirmed yet).
Although it better be more exciting than that borefest on Saturday.
Eck.

Actually the official announcement about the TV for game 2 was made late last week, but it took MLS a while to get the info updated.

And 9600 isn't great, but looking at the historical trends for attendance in the playoffs across the league it's not horrible. The attendance always takes a hit in the playoffs, I don't know why.

I can't wait for the first playoff in SL, knowing the bandwagon fans in Utah, we'll have a packed stadium

Jason is the Oct. 29 broadcast on Direct Kick?
the CRapids.com website makes it very clear that you cannot see the game outside of Denver and MLSnet still has TBD on the schedule for TV.

It's not like Dallas is well known for great attendance either. Will they beat 9600? We'll see.

It's supposed to be. I'm sure we'll get a solid answer on that as we get closer to the game.
