Does anyone else feel like the last eleven games have been a continuous series of punches to the head? I've tried to stay positive but this is ridiculous.

If it wasn't clear before, it is now. We have a very long way to go before we have a competitive team.

RSL the better team in the second half. Way to go RSL!!!!!!!! Not a win, but more importantly, not a LOSS 🙂 . I'm proud of them. :signrocko

My take? That we're a loss and a cheetos win away from being the worst team in the league.

Nice to see the Novak ball trickle in but you can't count on those. Much better by Watson and Williams--that was a well contructed goal.

But we had the momentum and the chances and couldn't put away a team that while very good was nevertheless uninterested in this game. Put the thing away. Win the game. We couldn't do it.

All credit to the team on the field in the second half for showing a lot of fight. But I'm done with moral victories. We need an actual victory. Wednesday works for me.

I guess I didn't see it that way. I watched RSL hustle, and win 50/50 balls, and scrape a tie from a good team on their home field. I was frustrated at times by the missed opportunities, but still took away a lot more positives from this game than negatives. I'm not opposed to moral victories at this point - because the season is a loss. If we win the RMC, that's still a moral victory, to a degree. Actual victories at this point aren't that much more meaningful to me than are moral victories.

What's frustrating for me is the lack of discipline in playing fundamental soccer. On the telecast, Dave Dir made a big deal about movement off the ball and he's absolutely right. We simply do not play with the tactical sophistication that's needed to consistently win in this league, and it gets down to how players understand movement, passing, and trapping. This is stuff every young player should know, and I don't see it consistenly applied with RSL.

We're 31 league games old so there are no "new team" excuses left. We should evaluate performances and technique against a league standard, not an expansion standard. That's why I say moral victories are no longer enough.

A victory on Wednesday will be just that--a victory. If the math comes out right we can win the RMC which will be a notable achievement. But it will be so because something was actually achieved, not just because the lads played hard and gave a good effort. Commendable, but reputation and honors are built on results and not work rate.

So I believe that the gloves are off now. For some I've seen on this forum and elsewhere the gloves were never on, but some of us have been cutting the coaches and players some slack. That has ended for me. I fully support the team, but the standard I expect is now a league standard. That's all I mean by my comments on this thread and my responses to tonight's performance.

🕺 <-- in lieu of rep

I've been planning a serious manifesto but I'm waiting until after Wednesday to do it.

I hear ya cluckin' big chicken. Ten losses in a row is pretty bad. And IIRC something like 26 goals were let in during that time and only 7 scored. It wasn't like there were a couple really close ones in there or even just a tie. Nope, 10 losses in a row. At some point that goes boyond the level of talent on the pitch. And even last night's game wa embrassing. A tie on the road isn't bad. But to let a San JOse team that was depleted in talent like that and simply interested in some minor points of pride (supporters shield; undefeated at home) get away with what they did is a frustrating. Another save or one less post and we leave Spartan with the 11th loss in a row. This is a team that eitehr tacticlly was uninterested in attacking until the last 20 minutes or simply didn't have the talent. And that they did in the last 20 minutes or so makes me point the finger at the tactics. I don't think Coach E cared that wehn we got the ball up to Tarley, he had no one supporting him to pass to. Ya, he had one time he should have laid it off for Williams and a couple others like that. But for all the complaining about Tarley losing the ball, what else do you expect? He's going to have some bad touches and those are his fault. But how long can a guy, even Pele, hold on to the ball before having 2 or 3 defenders on him is going to cause him to make a bad pass or loose the ball?

And what's with Mathis coming out in the 65th? Did he run out of gas? If so, why? It's the 2nd to last game of the season and he's not in shape to run a full 90?

I think so. YOu gotta think that his wages compared to others with more upside is going to see him moving on to another club. I think the Silverbacks are looking for a new CB.
