I think we could do a pre-soccer game or post-soccer game settlers/puerto rico/carcasonne/ticket to ride/or whatever kind of game night sometime. It could be fun.

That would be a great off-season activity. We are going to need something to get us through the winter.

I've got EPL to get me through the winter.

Okay. Done and done. We'll have a Settlers Fest that week with my old C10 buddy Jason. 🙂 He can beat the stockings off of us since he plays all the time (and we only play like once a week...) Jason, are you willing to try the Teleport Clause? (Also known as the "Anything Goes" house rules.) Aero, are you in? Once you start, you can't stop...

One thing I should mention. I've never played Settlers. :jawdrop: By the time I found the group I meet with, they had already moved past it on to other games (Like Carcassonne and Puerto Rico). I have played the Settlers of Catan card game though, so I know the basic concepts.

I'm only in town overnight on the 12th, so if after the game on the evening of the 12th doesn't work (A Wednesday night) I'll have to decline.

We'll have to see as October draws nearer.... let's keep it in the back of our minds until then. (Here I was thinking you were all cool until you said you haven't played Settlers. We can initiate you. Excellent.)

I'm in. As we get closer we can arrange 'les detailes' as it were. If you want to practice try a web site like

http://catan.jsettlers.com/

Some of their rules are weird but overall its a good program.

We could do a Puerto Rico night too. Have you played the expansion? It is fun if you are familiar with the original; even though it kind of waters it down in certain ways.

ps does anyone have 'ticket to ride' and want to teach/play it?

I've played many games of Puerto Rico, but never with the expansion. I've played (and own) Ticket to Ride and it's expansion, and I've played 2-3 games of Ticket to Ride Europe. I'm not going to try to bring Ticket to Ride on the plane with me for an overnight trip though. Maybe if the Rapids play in SLC over a weekend next season I'll come up for longer.

Other games that are high on our group's play list:
Medici
Age of Steam
Union Pacific (Same designer that did Ticket to Ride)
Alhambra
San Juan (Puerto Rico in a card game)
Liar's Dice
Citadels
Ra
St. Petersburg
6 Nimmt!
Tichu
