Predictions Challenge

Does anyone still want to do this? I think it’s a lot of fun but there doesn’t seem to be a lot of interest anymore. This week we didn’t even have a thread at all, unless everyone wants to guess tonight’s Cheetos/MetroTards game. But even when I do start the thread it seems that only a few people guess on the games.

Maybe it would be easier to just have one thread for it instead of creating a new one each week. And I’m not exactly sure who’s keeping score, but if someone would clue me in for how it’s done (still not quite sure on the points system LOL) I would be glad to do it.

What does everyone think?

I think this would be more successful if all of the following occurred:

1- Some small prize or pot was put together for the winner.
2- Someone is placed in charge of starting the new thread each week.
3- This same person, or a different person always figures and posts the scores each week.

Perhaps next year we can try it again with these things in mind.

Sorry, I kind of took a hiatus from the board and wasn't involved but I had fun with the predictions when I did them, even though I suck at them. Hiba, I nominate you to put up the prediction post each week.

I don't mind starting the new thread and doing the points, but, like I said, I need someone to explain the point system to me (unless I get to make up my own 😛 ).

So should we just give up for the rest of the season and start next season, or keep going with the remaining games?

I say do a negative point system, so if someone gets the score dead on their score is 0 and for every point they're off give them a point. Whoever has the least points wins. Or, you could give someone 3 points for getting the score dead on and getting the winner, 1 point for getting the winner but not the score, 0 for neither winner nor score. Just some ideas.

It was 1 point for the correct result with a bonus point for having the right score.

All's I know is that I will post in the predictions thread as long as you continue to let me put:
Chivas -20 vs 2 "My neighborhood Webelos Squad"
😉

Are we going to do this for the Harbour View FC game? If so, we better start that thread soon.
