The midfielder responded by bouncing up and walking toward the perp. Next, came the invisible roundhouse. And the pain. And the swelling. And the parachute. And the mush. And the surgery.

If this is the incident that I think it is, I vaguely remember this from when I lived in southern California.

Supposedly, this incident was even worse than this article mentions; according to 3rd hand accounts (always the best kind.)

-If the stories I heard are correct, Kamler is doing well to be breathing, let alone playing pro soccer.

-Kamler also could have sued the USSF for millions, but did not.

This explains why Brian Kamler has not had alot of playing time lately... it is actually kind of scary.
I hope it is nothing serious.

His versatility has been of little use lately, though, because Kamler's playing time has been cut short on account of a breathing condition that doctors currently are investigating. Kamler says he struggles at times to get air into his lungs.
"I think it's allergies," he says. "It feels like a kind of wheezing, like my throat is not all the way open."
The effect on the field makes Kamler appear as though he has lost his legs.
If the respiratory condition relents, Ellinger says Kamler will be counted on for greater contributions down the season's stretch. Both player and coach are waiting for word from the doctor, but Kamler's previously learned lessons still apply. Health is the most important thing.

I was thinking the same thing. I really feel bad too about griping about the way he has been playing. This truly does explain alot.

Personally, I've thought he's looked pretty good coming off the bench. He's been getting forward a lot more than normal and contributing to the attack.

I hope they find out what's wrong.
