What I'd like to know is why. Obviously he was lower than any of the other strikers in the mind of Ellinger - but why? Was he unable to deal with the playing style of the MLS? Didn't he have a good work ethic? Did he just have trouble finding the back of the net during practices as well? WHY?????

I think it may have come down to playing style. His style of play doesn't fit what we need to do to fit most of the other players. It is also a case of who do you want to play him in front of?
He will be better off with a team that has a strong target forward he can play off of. He is pretty good with the ball at his feet, but he doesn't seem to fit this team. __________________

He is not a midfielder however. Gregorio and Scarlett are midfielders (or at least can be). With the additions of them and Trembly and Tiger. And Washington coming in as an additional forward, Dipsy became the odd man out. Same with Leighton. Who, by the way, was slightly redeemed this weekend by Arturo Alvarez of FC Dallas who tied for worse Corner Kick in MLS history.

In all honesty I am sad to see both go.
In my dealings with the team over the past several months I have come to know many of the players and if that were not enough I don't like to see any person lose his job. Leighton O'Brien was a very nice guy that seemed to do extremely well at practice and in reserve matches... unfortunately he was invisible on the pitch in senior matches. Dipsy the little guy with the big contagious smile is another that seemed to do extremely well in reserve matches and practice. Dipsy was a finesse player and his biggest liability was his size. he was tossed around alot by defenders and I think that when they brought in Dante Washington it was the beginning of the end for Dipsy. Even though I felt Dipsy was a better investment for RSL Dante has not produced. I am not saying that they should have been kept because they were nice and smiled alot. It is a business, after all. I wish both players well and hope that they both hit the ground running... Best of luck...
