LA vs Chivas - 8/10 I'm sitting here watching the match, and you know, it's amazing how much you start to love the Galaxy when they're playing the Chivas. Just thought I'd lay that observation out there.

I had those same feelings Saturday v. Colorado. God bless em when they play our mortal enemies.

But they didn't make it easy, did they? Will Pando ever score? Has the team been completely Sampsonized by now? Loved it when a good part of the 82,000 cheered the Galaxy's PK. Those would be the Club America fans. So the Galaxy made our loss tonight a little easier to take. Here's cheering for San Jose to knock off the CRapids on Saturday while DC takes care of cheetos. __________________

I'm laughing so hard I can hardly type. Just read this.
My favorites: First, this: "On the positive side, the club played before 88,816, the second-largest crowd in league history, at least half of which were red-and-white clad supporters." At least half? I guess Club America really is the most popular team in Mexico, since there were two cheetos teams playing on the twin bill. And then we hear from Antonio Martinez: "All the games in the series were very similar, said Antonio Martinez. Chivas USA controlled possession, generated scoring chances but failed to score; the Galaxy sat back, countered and won that way, Martinez said. 'We're in last place and we're still taking it to them,' Martinez said. 'They play to counterattack and that's not normal. The last-place team should be the one defending for 90 minutes. Every game we've played against them, we've been the team that has attacked. At the end, they wait for our mistakes and that's how they score. They can't create anything off of us.' . . . "To Martinez, the match was the same tired tune played again, only this time in front of an enormous audience. Throughout much of the season, Chivas USA has had the ball often but has just as often been beaten on counterattacks. 'We're supposed to be the worst team in MLS and we're the ones dominating the play and creating all the chances," Martinez said. "It's frustrating when supposedly better teams than us are sitting back and afraid.'" OK, everyone's entitled to their own opinion. But here's the truth: Shots: LA 16-8 SOG: LA 6-3 Corners: LA 3-1 Offsides: LA 2-1 Fouls: sc 20-14 At least they can foul. But we knew that. If you saw the game, you know LA controlled every aspect of the game but just couldn't get their shots to fall (keep trying, Pando). Myopians in red stripes. __________________

Well, I just deleted my last post (ARRGGHH!).
I'll sum it up by saying read this. Martinez's comments are hilarious when you look at the stats here. The Galaxy dominated and Club America won the second game of the twin bill. __________________
