Hello Ladies and Gents,

I've been reading the forumns all season now and decided I might as well join in the fun of posting on them. I've lived in Utah my whole life and am a huge fan of soccer. In fact, I still watch my collection of games from the '94 World Cup when I get really bored. Glad to have REAL in town, I just wonder why MLS didn't come here sooner. I too hope that Mr. Checketts (sp?) days are long on this land.

Nice to meet you all and "Chivas Sucks".

I guess this is the place to get started. Hi, I'm TommyGirl. I've been lurking here for a while, not quite sure if I know as much as everyone else here does about the sport of soccer, but I'm willing to give it a try. I have a large family, mostly brothers. They have all participated in all sorts of sports, so I think I know enough about soccer to get by.
I'm sort of at a standstill with my life. Not sure were to go from here. Just here to pass the time of day. I saw this site and wanted to get to know the team and players better.
That's 'me' in a nutshell.

Tommy, welcome and enjoy. There are a lot of us who don't know that much about soccer and some who are complete experts (like Scholesy, who is the "color" commentator for the radio broadcasts, and Steve Pastorino (can't remember his nickname here.. SteveP?) who is the general manager for the team.)

Sometimes the newbies have very fresh and dead-on comments, which is awesome. Oh, and I'm a newbie myself, but don't claim any good comments. I'm just here to get a feel for what's new in Real World.

Don't be shy. Many of us knew next to nothing about the game before the season started.

My name is Phil. I started playing soccer when I was 4 years old back in like 1980 (you do the math to get my age) and played through high school. After high school, ice hockey kind of took over for college and beyond, and I still play hockey and work in the industry.

But I've always loved soccer...and supporting Utah soccer teams. From the days of the Salt Lake Sting, to the Blitzz, to the Freezz, and now RSL. And I am also still traumatized by the loss of the Freezz...I loved those games!

I never really cared about MLS until RSL came along. I was more into the European leagues. Now I follow RSL more than any other soccer team.

I do music too. If you like hard rock, check out www.rune-band.com
