In fact I never even said I agree with what they say. I do agree with a lot of it, not all, but a lot. But just don't automatically discard the message because of race/occupation/etc.
Yes, that is true, but I was just being a smart ass. I just don't like their music, I haven't really listened to their lyrics. It just isn't a sound I really like. Although like every other group, I'm sure they have at least one or two songs I don't hate, I even like one or two country songs, and I HATE Country. Unfortunately, my wife likes the crap and tries to subject me to it on a regular basis. Although, I suppose I wouldn't mind a Faith Hill or Shania Twain concert.

I may be a little late here but, I sort of like some rap. I like more of the R&B and hip-hop stuff but rap isn't too bad depending on who's rapping. I like Eminem a lot...

Hey now. I grew up in a small, one-horse-country-listenin'-lazy town. LOVE the stuff, well, most of it. As for rap, I don't really care for it, most of it has a real good beat though. Gotta love that beat !! My kids all have rythm, and they sure the heck didn't get it from their dad!! LOL

Of course, I do have some really cool ring tones. Hey, does Ciera(sp?) count? I like her style. It also depends on the lyrics. If it's one of those "go beat yo momma, rape ya dog" type of things...I won't even listen to it. Just depends is all.

That sounds more like a country music lyric. 🤡

No argument here they know A LOT about selling CDs

They haven't thank the heavens.

Fine I'll change my original staement to this:

Yes it is interesting to listen to rich ethnically diverse, multi-national hippies who became millionaires by selling cd's to rich white Americans "rage" against the same rich white Americans and capitalism in general.

The irony remains.

The only way I can listen to the music is by not listening to the message because the message is generally quite stupid. I guess I'm just not cut out to be a Renegade of Funk.

I like Kanye. I have "Through the Wire" on my iPod, and every time I listen to it, I pick up on something new.

I like rap and old country. They are both protest movements which i like. And they have to be smart. I don't like the bragging and silly violence.
Good rap:
Public Enemy-It takes a nation..., Fear of a black planet
The 1st Wu-Tang album is fantastic
Dizzee Rascal is in my car now
The Streets 1st album is also good
And of course the best there is: Beastie Boys. Great music, great message (the later ablums) great musicians, great friends. the whole package. they always look like they are having fun. And it is a little known fact that they have an entire cd of country music (which is not very good at all).

Good country:
Hank Willaims Sr. 'nuff said
The entire collection of Time LIfe country cd's. I love when that infomercial is on!
Hank Snow, Flatt&Scruggs, and on and on.

The replacements are the utlimate r&r band though. So good it hurts to listen to them. Also try out an alt-country band called the Old 97's. They combine country, punk and they rock!

Disclaimer: These opinions have not been subjected to the scientific method so any claims as to being "best" have not been proven.
