How about some public rallies before first home game.

Hey Loyalists, since we now know that the first two RSL games will be away games, I think we could use that time to help create a buzz before our home opener.

We could meet the team at the airport when they get back from their first game, or stand out on some downtown street corner with flags, banners and signs asking people to honk.

And maybe with the Front Office's help, we could assure some local tv coverage as well, really get our word out.

Your thoughts?

Sounds like a great idea. Also we should all get together and watch the away games at the SkyBox or someplace.

Those are all great ideas...
Count me in on any of those things...

We will have at least two supporters at the first match, Prime and Czar are trying to get to the first match and if I had family in the area I would be mooching off them too! 😉

If they show the first match on tv I think it would be a fantastic idea to meet at the SkyBox and represent!

I would rather be AT the second match in LA... A charter bus would be the Ideal... I hope maybe I can drum up at least two or three others that can at least carpool down to LA and share the driving also split costs of room, gas and whatever. If only a couple of people are interested or committed then that is good enough for me!

We should definitely, at the very least, have a huge showing at the two away games at the Crapids...

We are supporters so I think we should have some kind of showing at all the away games whenever possible. If I could afford it I would be at every game...
I may be crazy but to me it is that important...

Leaving your wife at home with a 3-year-old and a 3-week-old & going to watch a soccer game in a stadium with $8 beer is hazardous to your health.

So I will be on a later expedition to Victoria Street.

Here's an idea: The Riot Squad mentioned taking an RV up here when The Atlas 1860 Atletico Espanol City Galaxy visits Rice Eccles. Maybe the Loyalists could go the Winnebago Warrior route?

The 1996 Galaxy had a "Meet the Players" day, a couple of weeks before the season opener. It was open to everyone, not just season ticket holders.

The Galaxians had a table set up & I think that a few people found out about Area 51 on that day & joined up.

The Galaxy can have a meet the players day outside 2 weeks before a season opener & no one will get frostbite.

When it U of U gridiron's spring practice?

Maybe RSL could have a Meet The Players & Pay Your Loyalists Dues event in the U of U practice bubble?

Loyalists, a call to arms.

A fire was lit under me last night. Last night on channel 4's Sunday night sport show they did a "Top 10 Utah Sports Stories of 2004" list. RSL came in 10th and the only comment they gave was "it is yet to be seen if ReAL will be a ReAL success."

I guess we have been lucky so far with the local media not knocking soccer and doubting the possibility of a successful MLS team too much.

It was to me though like someone was laying down a gauntlet.

I want to see us go over the top with our support and show everyone (local media and MLS as a whole) what kind of a supporters group we can come up with.

There, I feel better now.

👍

I was out of town for awhile and missed this post. I agree wholeheartedly with all of the above. Let's show them that the RSL is ALREADY SUCCESSFUL, even before their first game!

A good start of course, would be to have a large showing tomorrow at the news conference.

What would be better than to have a bunch of fans making alot of noise welcoming who ever *wink-wink, nudge-nudge* our next player is!!!

That is pretty public and could be considered a rally!!!

Just a thought!

any one from the UC making the journey?
