F.P.G. : I was going to make some sarcastic response about you learning to respect the fact that people have an opinion different from yours, but then I realized that would be kind of hypocritical, being judgmental about you being judgmental. So I'll just say that it's fresh and cool to hear a different perspective, and hopefully you can appreciate our perspective.

And if nothing else, I respect your right to have the opinion that your opinion is the only right opinion even if my opinion and your opinion wouldn't get along 100% of the time. Go USA!

Holy PC Batman!!

I like FPG's basic points, but I don't let it keep me up at nights like it apparently does for them. Deuce hit it right on. Relax. When/if soccer players start wearing neon headbands and leg warmers you and I can complain together. Until then, a little earring, and an untucked shirt shouldn't be the focus of some much vitriol!!

Whether it was Pele, Donovan, Watson, a high school soccer player, or some 14-year-old kid on a competition team, you don't miss a shot that easy and especially when it's two-on-one. The fact that he's a "professional" getting paid implies more responsibility. You shouldn't just let him off the hook for blowing the shot by saying he's a rookie. Now I'm not saying rookies aren't allowed to make their fair share of mistakes. Nerves and inexperience will excuse some mistakes, but not that shot. Sorry.

A few points:

* Who said anything about letting Watson off the hook? By the way, what hook was he on in the first place? I'm not responsible for disciplining the players. Are you? I feel no responsibility if they play bad or good. I watch the game, enjoy the game, and say "hey, he's a rookie" and let it go. If the coach pulls him or yells at him or even pats him on the back, its none of my business. So, no more talk of "letting him off the hook."

* I don't think "Anybody should have made that shot." If that were true then I would think Donovan and Beasley were both nobodys. Would you say they were nobodys? Last time I checked both had missed shots eeriely similar to Watsons; And their shots were in USMNT World Cup Qualifying games. That's alls I'm saying. If Donovan and Beasley can miss the shot then I'll allow the Watson may miss it as well.

* PS- When I played soccer, we tucked in our shirts... only because our shorts were too big.

Amatuers. We wore 3 piece suits on the pitch! 🙂

I do think not tucking the shirt in looks tacky but I'm more worried about RSL getting at least 3 more clean sheets this year (all against the Rapids).

I'd be stoked if they wore neon headbands and leg warmers, personally. :signrocko

For the record, I do believe tucked in shirts is more appropriate DURING the game. As Clarette mentioned, I think its more so the ref can tell when a shirt is being UN-tucked ever so professionally by another player.

After the game, I don't care if they paint their faces red, take off their shirts, and wave flags around.......wait...vaguely familiar.....

ANYWAY

I pity you NPG. There are A LOT of neat ppl out there with earrings, tattoos, and, GOD FORBID, untucked shirts. Open your eyes a little....theres a great big world out there.

Oh, I almost forgot to ask, which professional team do you play for? Clearly Mr. Checketts needs to consult you and your team to figure out how to make his organization better.

🙂 I never knew I...

Hey RSL Fans

I take offense to anybody thinking I am Ghost Man or whatever he calls himself and as for you Mr. Ghost Man, the name is Mookee. It just rolls off the tongue the way I like it.

Listen guys. I was just curious about everybody's opinion when I made the poll about the jerseys being tucked in. I'm glad we have guys that leave their shirts untucked. Quite frankly, I know a dude who always untucks his shirt because he says he was "under-blessed" and the shirt helps mask that fact.

Now let's get back to the untucked shirt issue. After further contemplation it is my "meaningless" opinion that Williams dresses the way he does on the pitch because he wants to be noticed. The world is full of these people. Dennis Rodman, Richard Simmons, Tony Little, Super Dale, That Lesko Dude from the Infomercials, The Three Stooges, Kanye West and Pee Wee Herman to name a few. What do they all have in common. They are all very successful and they make people laugh whether it's intentional or not. We are just jealous because we don't make as much money as these people do and so we have to make fun of them for how they act and dress while they laugh their way to the bank.

I decided that I think Williams is awesome. If it wasn't for guys like Williams the world would be boring and there would be nothing to laugh at. Imagine if everybody was as professional as John Stockton or Tiger Woods. How boring would it be if we didn't have guys like Michael Jackson, Frodo, Howard the Duck or Roseanne Barr?

I agree with the lad who told Mr. Ghost to lighten up. I think if we lighten like he said and let Williams be an entertainer it's easier to appreciate what he Williams brings to the team.

I hear that he has one powerful shot. What's so neat about his shot if the guy can't wear a jersey that looks like maternity clothing? In fact I saw my nephew the other day running around in a diaper wearing one of my shirts and I thought of Williams.

So enough whining Mr. Ghost. It's obvious that we outnumber you and we think Mr. Williams should wear whatever he pleases!!!

This thread is turning out better than I thought. Thanks FPG for reviving it.
BTW, two total posts on the same thread. Doesn't any of the other topics in this forum interest you?
