Corner Kick Intimidation Bardguy made me aware of this. Check out the game again on MLSNet.com specifically at 34:13 into the game (or 40:57 on media player time). You can see that quite a few people were beckoning to the FC Dallas player who was going to take the corner kick. Even with just a handful of people doing it, I think it would be intimidating, but with our whole section?!!? That would downright scary!! I can see opposing players playing "paper, rock, scissors" to see who HAS to take the corner in our area if we're all doing that!

We're loud, that's for sure and taking a corner near us is not exactly on most visiting players' list of Top 10 Things To Do Today.
But, generally speaking; the more skilled offensive players or maybe a good D Mid will take a corner. These players tend to have played in Europe or South America; where fans are even more intimidating than we are. I'm entirely in favor of harrassing visiting players, but I don't want my three-year-old repeating in preschool the following Monday a humourous ditty about Landon Donovan and his sister.

I agree that we should keep it clean (relatively), but the "come on over" beckon is what I'm suggesting we all do.

Speaking of corner kick intimidation...
Props to Broome for his 3 blocked corner kicks... And did you see the huge grin on Andy's face when he came over to do that corner in the second half? I am sure he felt a different kinda love... than the FCD players 😉

Broome was great. I loved that. How to get in the other players mind!
Also, I must say, I loved it how when FCD got one of their 150 corners, tons of RSL fans would come running to the corner to taunt the FCD player. Classic! Good job!

Love it when we make lots of noise and wave the players to dare to come over to take the corner. But as others noted, let's keep it relatively civil. I've seen a few players spat at and seen debris thrown a few times which is really isn't a tasteful thing to do.

Like Rabble2 said.
We don't want our section closed. I need to be able to serenade Ramon Ramirez with "I Can't Drive 55".

Definitely keep it civil, but we gotta pour on the intimidation as much as possible without crossing the civil line - which should include no spitting or throwing stuff, and in my opinion, a minimal amount of cussing or hard language - but definitely no spitting or throwing stuff!
