Remember the game against Chivas when none of us knew who to pick for MOTM because it was such a horrible performance? Well, for me at least, this game is completely opposite! Here are the players I thought did well enough for a vote - if not the whole team:

Akwari (helped shut down Ruiz - literally)
Dunseth (helped with the center marking AND scored a sweet goal - didn't look like a defenders touch)
Brown (part of the amazing defensive shut down of one of the most potent offenses in the league, and not even playing his normal position!)
Mathis (hustled, had some great passes and free kicks AND scored that HUGE goal)
Williams (hustled, had some great passes and free kicks and one of the most beautiful assists I have ever seen on that set piece to Cila)
Broome (part of the amazing effort in the back 4 - he blocked like 3 corners in a row)
Countess (Clean Sheet against one of the most potent offenses in the league - logging 7 saves)

The rest of the team showed up as well - which was great, but the above were the players that stood out to me the most. I didn't even vote for the MOTM for the Chivas game because it was so depressing, so I was wondering if I could use my lost vote from that game and add it to my one for this game - giving me the chance to vote for two different players. Jules? 😉

Just one vote! ha ha...

And my vote goes to Andy Williams. He was all over the place, setting up so many good moments. DJ was in TOP form and was purely a joy to watch (because of his keeper skills, to clarify...) but it's gonna have to go to Andy this week nonetheless.

I voted for D.J.! 7 saves! Come on! On the other hand I also agree with all the other positive comments. Andy was definitely IN the game. And the other players did great. But 7 desparate, spectacular, HUGE saves! AND he took more than one for the team, as well!

I don't take anything away from the others, but D.J. is the man!

My vote goes to DJ. True he shouldn't have had to make as many saves as he did, but he did and he was amazing!

2nd: Andy Williams
3rd: Nelson Akwari
Honorable mention: Cleetus

DJ.

Good that there are so many quality performances to choose from, but DJ not only got the job done but did it while obviously hurt. Warriors always get my vote.
