If Goats Lite signs some actual professional players (instead of A League and Primera A rejects like they have now) like Paco Palencia and Loquito that can beat teams besides, um, RSL; then Galaxy - CDCUSA matches will sell out Victoria Street, including Lalas Hill.

Jen Chang from ESPN Soccernet has written a great article about the Galaxy-Galacticos game--the best I've seen to this point. It's on their site, or follow this link.

The bottom line is that the "big picture" steps taken by MLS in this match are exactly what was planned:

'For the Galaxy, general manager Doug Hamilton was more than pleased with his team's performance and felt that they had acquitted themselves well. More importantly, however, was the impression the Galaxy had made on worldwide observers for the first time. "It's important to show the world that America 'gets' soccer and I think we did that tonight," stated Hamilton. " I also believe that we showed that the gap between MLS and European soccer is not as vast as some people believe." I'd have to agree.'

And it doesn't hurt Real Madrid either, who have decided to take the initiative in the U.S. market. I'm no RM fan--Forca Barca!--but I have to respect their presentation of their club in this country. They are making a big push here, and they've made a good start of it.
