I thought we'd already signed him. Weird.

It depends on if Jamaica takes one of the 3rd place spots. That may be the case, and if it is, we won't get Williams back.

Of course.

Sorry I asked.

Blast....we need a guy like Cabrera. I hope that the two parties can eventually get together. However, I do have to say after looking at the salaries file provided by the NY Times I can see why it might be a concern. We pay a number of guys quite a bit and adding another high salary guy might be tricky.

You are right. The USMNT plays Jamaica at Gillette Stadium at 2:00 p.m. MT.

RSL plays in KC at 6:00 p.m. MT. Think he can make it?

So do we want Eddie back first, or Andy?

I know, country first. But the club is hurting, like, bad.

Wow, thats for ruining my morning guys JK.
This does suck...dare I check out the BS thread on this?

What happened to the Dunny/Kamler central defense?

As for Cabrera, Ellinger only said they were going to sign him, Gustavo still had to sign the papers. Perhaps RSL tried to get him on the cheap. Wouldn't surprise me if you look at their track record so far. Lets ignore the Pope and Mathis signings...

Hmm, I don't know. Below is a list of player salaries for RSL according to the NY Times where the first number is the base salary and the second number is guaranteed compensation (whatever that means).

Mathis, Clint - $270,000.00 - $410,000.00
Pope, Eddie - $314,782.00 - $378,948.66
Kreis, Jason - $160,000.00 - $197,500.00
Williams, Andy - $95,000.00 - $95,000.00
Countess, D.J. - $90,000.00 - $92,500.00
Besagno, Nikolas - $50,000.00 - $86,500.00
Kamler, Brian - $74,250.00 - $85,500.00
Pierce, Rusty$70,000.00 - $72,500.00
Brown, Chris$70,000.00 - $72,500.00
Dunseth, Brian - $70,000.00 - $70,625.00
Washington, Dante$60,000.00 - $60,000.00
O'Brien Leighton - $48,000.00 - $50,250.00
Selolwane, Dipsy - $45,000.00- $45,625.00
Rojas, Marlon - $42,000.00 - $42,625.00
Trembly, Seth - $40,000.00 - $40,000.00
Fitzpatrick, Leslie - $36,000.00 - $36,000.00
Watson, Jamie - $30,000.00 - $35,000.00
Akwari, Nelson - $28,000.00 - $29,250.00
Kreamalmeyer, Luke - $28,000.00 - $28,000.00
Behncke, Matt - $28,000.00 - $28,000.00
Cila, Jordan - $16,500.00 - $16,500.00
Nolly, Jay - $16,500.00 - $16,500.00
Cutler, Kenny - $16,500.00 - $16,500.00
Flores, Sergio - $11,700.00 - $11,700.00
Lookingland, Michael - $11,700.00 - $11,700.00
Novak, Kevin - $11,700.00 - $11,700.00
Knowles, Cameron - $11,700.00 - $11,700.00

We certainly do have a few bargain guys, but we do pay our experienced players decently for MLS. I don't know how our salaries compare to the rest of MLS though (as I haven't bothered to do the analysis), but if we are trying to sign him for the salary of Marlin Rojas then I presume we would have a problem. Anyway, I hope it all works out. Just a bit of info to chew on.

From looking at this list i see a couple of big salaries that haven't been doing too much for us. Let's start with the first two on the list.

Jason Kreis w/ the Hat Trick!

Ya Deuce. I know we're on the road and haven't done well defensively but that was just nutts. No way any MLS team, however horrible they are, should let an a-league team score more than 2 or 3.

I've got more comments on the match over at bigsoccer in the forum. Maybe after a couple beers or some woodford reserve tomorrow night I'll feel up to posting them here. I do have an extra game program, for what it's worth, or two yet so if you folks want one, PM me.

Well, back to the reports, looking forward to a bike ride, and doing some apartment hunting.
