Actually I have been on the phone and email most of the morning trying to find out if all my friends are OK and accounted for.

None of my friends over there, who are directly affected by it (some of them just got to a computer, incidentally), really know what to say, so what am I really supposed to say about it?

I can't get a hold of a lot of my friends. Most of them are internet friends and none seem to be online. It's driving me crazy.

I hope that this tragedy:

(a) Makes the world aware that terrorism is not a US issue and not a middle east issue, and

(b) I hope this tragedy does not make people suddenly think the Iraq war is any more justified than it was before, because Iraq and terrorism are related but not the same thing.

Okay, so if you're not confused about my political views by now, congratulations.

Why do terrorists do these kinds of things? I just don't understand it.
