Abandoning Ship in San Jose?

Looks like the team is going to go through a major facelift/overhaul in the coming months...

First Donovan... then Agoos... now everyone.... Seriously not everyone but nearly...

I was reading over on BS about Mulrooney possibly leaving as well (and not taking pleasure in the plight of the poor Quakes fans at all, really I wasn't!).

It will be difficult for them in the short term to replace all those players, but they were a bit old.

I would never take pleasure in the plight of another teams fan base...
Unless of course it is the crapid fans...

I do, however, wonder what all the bee-boppin', screamin' girlie Donovan fan club members will be doing now that he is across the pond... 😲

hopefully they will move to Germany with him... C-YA!!!
😉

I've heard that San Antonio is pretty nice.

But as as RSL fan, a plane ticket to San Jose costs less than a ticket to San Antonio (or Houston) and we can head to Monterey, Santa Cruz or The City before or after we Trash the Clash.

Before RSL came about I was partial to the Quakes, since I had lived in the Bay area. And to be very clear, I am big Landon Donovan fan. If you are a USMNT fan, you have to be. Landon is awesome. Much more deserving fan adoration than Adu or punks like Ruiz.
The Quakes are going thru a lot of change. I hope Kinnear knows what he is doing. The let Ronnie Ekelund go, RSL got Brown, Chivas got Walker, Mulrooney wants to leave, Agoos was traded, Corrales left for Norway, Landon went "home" and DeRosario hasn't been picked back up and he is trying out for some English teams...
At least they kept Mullan, Ching and Onstad. It should be an interesting year for the Quakes, but I think they will not be a force in 2005.
GO RSL! 🙂

I'm fine with Landon. It's the Quakes I dislike... but not as much as the Crapids.

I think Kinnear's trying to be proactive, and while there's a good chance they could look more like an expansion team than RSL next season, in the long term, I'm sure it will pay off.

I just feel bad for the Metros fans who have to put up with GOOOOSE.

(P.S. Do chicks really think Landon's hot? I don't so much see it...)

Don't get me wrong... I am a fan of Donovan too... in fact I am quite disappointed that I will not get to see him play RSL next season.

Donovan had a huge teenage girl following... and I wonder if those fans that he brought to the game will continue to come to matches now that he is no longer playing in the states.
I am sure that there were some converts that were able to really appreciate the game beyond Donovan being on the pitch and I am sure those types will stick around... at least as soccer fans, maybe not so much smurfquakes fans.

There must be some cosmic force that wants me to support RSL as my #1 team. With the Wiz up for sale and everyone in San Jose bailing it looks as though Salt Lake will be my team.

Cool.
