Stadium

I'll vote for Sandy, although honestly I really couldn't care less if I tried, I just want a stadium, it could be in Provo for all I care, I just don't want to be at RES anymore.

I actually think it'll be in Sandy but the resaon for the delay I believe is to try and convince SLC to step up and make an effort. I doubt it, Rocky doesn't understand the word.

Any stadium is better than the RES, especially with all those yard markes and the U insignia, etc. It seems, in a weird way, demeaning to be playing soccer on such a field. Anyhow, I'll go post something in the SteveP thread to voice my opionions about the new stadium and its design.

Great, no announcement.
I am starting to feel the whole "60-90 days" treatment now.

As long as this doesn't turn into the on-again, off-again soap opera the Crap-o-stars had with new stadiums (it wasn't just Harrison), I can make it through the wait.

....maybe

I have to respectfully disagree here...Rocky would love to have the stadium...the SLC counsel would love to have the stadium (you will have to trust my sources on this one)...the problem is funding. When the RDA fund option disappeared, so did most of SLC's chances, because the county and State would rather poke themselves in the eye with needles than help Rocky do anything...unfortunate, but true. The county has also made it very clear that they will not authorize a bond vote...so even the general public has no way to get the stadium downtown. Unless one of the current land-owners decides the best use of the land is a stadium and carries back the land cost, it will not happen downtown.

I have to agree with Schoelsy. SLC's inability to bring home a stadium is the least shocking think I have seen all year. The mayor's office is inefficient and some say inept.

The city council has to occupy a lot of it's time acting as the city's spokesperson in political circles to keep money flowing for even basic no brainders like the Salt Palace expansion which was bizarrely jeopardized this year by the mayor's office.

City Hall isn't getting it done. That's why we went from presumed location to back of the line.

I would love to see a man on mars, but guess what? Unless I'm willing to do something about it, who cares. Likewise, I don't care if the Mayor wants a stadium.

We need action. Not talk, then blame.

Oh, please, no. Davis County I could live with, but the UC? I'd be forced to buy Blaze season tix. And I'm already fundamentally opposed to giving Larry Miller any of my money.

All I know is what I have heard him say in conversations and his actions. He certainly wasn't for it in discussions (although he paid wonderful lip service but he just simply hasn't come through with it when other leaders have), in fact he was far from cooperative or helpful, he is far to occupied with his anti mormon agenda, his segrigationalist policies, and his devisive policticing to put any effort into the stadium. But he is a genius at shifting the blame, dividing a community and runs brilliant campaigns. No offence but I will have to take the other side of the fence and trust my sources and my own ears.

Actions speak louder than words.
