Prayer Request Thread

Okay, if I'm totally out there, then let me know. But I was just over at a motorcycle enthusiast forum and they have a prayer request thread where people can request prayers for themselves or people they know that need them. I know some people might be uncomfortable with that, but I'm putting the idea out there for all of you to contemplate. If you hate it then I wont mention it again.

I was thinking the same thing, but I thought people might not take this thread seriously if I put that there. I'm thinking more along the lines if someone is sick or having a hard time or something. Well, yeah, I guess Mathis is having a hard time. But I think you get what I mean.

This may open a can of worms, simply because it is most times a volatile subject. For that simple reason I do not think this is appropriate for this forum.
This invites tension, conflict and animosity where there should be none.

You may argue that people that don't want to hear it may just not read it. but how many of us have shown such impecable restraint in the past on openly divisive issues.

Is there not a hierarchy within your chosen religion that will be more appropriate for this?

Although the majority of forum members may be of one religion or another, this is not a religious forum and should not be used to promote one religion over another.

Although you may be a person that is comfortable discussing religion openly, I think you will find that some people are very uncomfortable discussing religion.
I am not taking personal issue with anyone for their religious beliefs. I just feel that this is extremely inappropriate for this forum.

Out of respect for people on this forum that feel religion is a private and personal matter. I ask that you close this thread and refrain from discussing openly religious issues on a soccer forum. Please discuss those subjects where appropriate. Thanks

from the other side of the isle...i agree. that's what PMing is for. The greatet part about this board is there is little to no political chats (unless we're talking about the stadium) and little religious discourse. both VERY splitting issues.

Oh, and also that something happens so that all the smilies that include bananas some how disappear.

Oh, and pray for the media that they start covering the recent Supreme Court decision expanding eminent domain in the manner it deserves to be covered.

Yeah, what Deuce and Fuegote said.

Unless it is a funny "pray to the soccer gods" thing, this might not be a good topic.

I accept that Deuce. Go ahead and delete the thread. I don't have the ability to do that.
