Nevermind Can I just say what a useless lot of gits the West Valley Police are? The cop tells me that they can't do anything unless I call right when it happens. So, tonight the same thing happens, I call, and now, almost 40 minute later I haven't heard back from them, while the perpetrators are long gone. Now I think I'm beginning to understand why this place is notorious for crime. If any of you on this board are police officers I know the majority of you work real hard. The police here in West Valley have a real attitude problem and there must be a lot of criminals in the doughnut shops, because that's the only place I ever see the police. I guess I should write the mayor, but he's as useless as they come. I think it's time to move.

Hun, like I said, sometimes you just need to let some steam off. What better place to do that than a public forum? I'm just as upset about it, if not moreso. And today, of all days....😠

This reminds me of why I started that thread a few months ago called "Where do you live" and someone was talking smack about West Valley...

I was talking smack about West Valley. I was having a bad day yesterday due to some real jerk neighbors. Some other neighbors came over and talked to us for a while and that made it a little better. As far as the issue with the police, well, they still haven't called me back. Some teenagers were lighting off illegal fireworks. I guess that's just not one of their priorities. The problem I have with it is that I have a newborn baby trying to sleep and when they do that it wakes him up. The other problem I have with it is that they're doing it in my yard. I called the police to complain about it and the dispatcher told me they were coming, but I guess that was a lie. Maybe I should form the West Valley chapter of the Guardian Angels, I know the police don't give a damn.

Sorry Dadof8. I have a similiar neighbor problems (well waking up the baby) but we "handled" it.
Just remember to take a deep breath and don't loose your cool. Also try a fan or soft music in the baby's room to off set the fireworks noise. Just a thought. Good luck.

I'd like to know how you handled it. I lost my cool with one neighbor yesterday. (Hence the title of this thread). I basically told him if he doesn't like the fact tht we have so many kids, he can move out. Of course there was more to it. But now I regret it because I have to live next door to the guy and see him almost every day.

Doesn't Utah allow concealed carry now?

Like I told you last night, it will all blow over in a couple of weeks, then he'll find something else to complain about. He's just a crotchity old man. And I mean that in the best of ways. He's set in his ways, and it doesn't matter what you try to do to be nice to him, he's still gonna be a stinker back.

Yep, but I'm not going to pull a gun on a neighbor. I don't know if you're familiar with Super Dell, but he did that and now he's going to court for misdemenor charges of brandishing a weapon during an argument. I got rid of my shotgun because I didn't want my kids to get a hold of it. So, now we're gun free.
