Love that rivalry.

I agree about the Jazz--they did well.

Actually, Utah won the NCAA and NIT in the same year.

I know, but even though the NIT was bigger back then no one cares any more. Everything's about the NCAA now. Hence my comment.

And I think BYU has two NIT titles as well, so I'd rather concentrate on what they DON'T have.

Not quite.

Utah won the NIT in 1947.

In 1944 they lost in the first round of the NIT, then while on the way home, the NCAA contacted the Utes and asked them if they would replace a team that dropped out after having a few injuries in an auto mishap. Utah won that NCAA tourney and then won an exhibition game against the NIT winner.

:fish2:

These smilies are cool.

I'm sure some of you heard this

Jazz's draft selection, Deron Williams, said he was excited to come to the Jazz because it was the only professional sports team in the state.
At first I was offended. Then I realized that what we had here was a professional athlete that doesn't know his thumb from his.... So what's new abou that.
This kind of talk about the our team, however, does irk me.

I can't be to worried about that; he's not from Utah and I'm sure doesn't follow soccer.

He's just ignorant of it, that's all, I don't think that it's offensive...it's not even really surprising.

I had a friend from Ohio come visit my house last night and when we took him on the tour of the house, he saw the ReAL poster on the wall in my boys' room. He expressed surprise that there was an MLS team in Utah. This from a guy who played soccer for his high school.

No worries.
