San Jose vs LA Galaxy

OK, I'm a loser - I spent a Saturday night home alone watching this match. Just a few thoughts-

Landon Donovan is a nonfactor on the road! We shut him down twice, and he hardly even touched the ball at his old stomping grounds. I wonder how many opposing fans are disappointed with him when they come to watch their team play against "the best". At least we got to see him at his best against Costa Rica!

Wow! 2 own goals within 5 minutes of each other! Why couldn't LA score one of those a few days ago!

San Jose has increased their lead on us in the standings. Of course, we still have 3 matches left against the Crapids and only need to finish 4th to make the playoffs...

They always seem to suck against everyone but us.

LA did it to themselves--two ridiculous goals against off defensive miscommunication.

Great series of saves by Onstad to keep LA off the board.

San Jose beginning to pull away from the bottom three--and that still includes RSL, of course.

FCD did us favors today by beating the CRapids, and KC did the same with cheetos. We can gain ground on both with points against the Fire.

Other than San Jose moving further ahead in the standings, that game just made my night. Too funny. :p

The sequence at about the 50th minute mark where there were four saves by Onstad in about 10 seconds was amazing, as well as the 2 Galaxy own goals.

Right now the BS Galaxy board is in a meltdown. Their fans are definitely getting frustrated...

Yeah my wife and switched over to this match at its end. My wife said "does that say SJ as 3 goals?"
I gasped and then laughed a good hard laugh.
I love hearing all those boos towards Donovan. Of course the SJ fans would be angering with him.
This is a great rivalry. I wonder if they will still have fire between them when AEG sells the Quakes (which is why so many players switch between the 2 squads).

The rivalry is deeper than that. This represents the rivalry between NoCal and SoCal. Whether the team is sold or not, I'm sure the rivalry will exist. As MLS grows and gets older, the rivalry will only get better with age. I look forward to future matches between these two, especially if they're both top tier teams. I'm not so sure I can say L.A. is a top-tier team right now, however.
