How to make the Loyalists even better? This thread is started for two reasons:
(1) Our Loyal Leader asked me and a couple other Loyalists a month or so ago how we thought things were going, what the Loyalists strengths and weaknesses are. He was looking for a little input. (2) Lately there have been some attacks on Loyalist attitudes and "weaknesses" Without getting ugly, please state your opinion of the weaknesses AND strengths of the current Loyalists. Keep it positive, even if it's criticism. And please don't compare the Loyalists to the Rouge Cadillac Brigadoon. Keep it on topic! :D

I'll start.
I agree with fuegote that there is a lot more that we could be doing. People are itching to help, anxious to make things awesome. The Loyalists need to have some more lofty goals, in my opinion. I can probably think of a dozen things I'd personally love to be involved with, helping out. I think our Loyal Leader is the right person for the job. He has been a vocal support of Utah soccer for years, he is very diplomatic and very level-headed. I'm not saying he's perfect, but he's the right man for the job right now. However, I think responsibility needs to be distributed a little more so our L.L. doesn't have to be responsible for so much himself. (Major props to Steve, Ethan and Jason for the amazing amount of work they've done.) I have tried to offer my assistance where appropriate and I'm trying to make the best of the MOTM and newsletter (oops, no newsletter this week.. the midweek game got me all muddled up.) I think that some rules of operation would help the Loyalists a lot. For example, how do we "elect" leaders in the future? I think that Glenn is doing a fabulous job and I'll vote for him again next year, but we should have at least two candidates for the major positions so people can really voice their opinions and make sure the Loyalists belong to everybody and not just a few.

1- Another drummer. (I hear Aurelius used to fill that roll)
2- Some one or more than one person to try and get the rest of the crowd involved more. 3- A hymn or anthem. That's all for now. Everything else ROCKS!! __________________

If THEY complain, that's something different. But come on, Rougies, are you really going to take my light-hearted teasing seriously? You already know I love ya. (But I'm still sticking with the PG-rated supporter's club.)

It sounds like to me that you guys need to have a meeting. Not at practice or at a tailgate or at Iggy's, a real meeting where these suggestions, which I'm sure will be many, can be discussed.

Where we can improve:
1. I think we need to recruit more members. I'd like to see nothing but crimson and flags from row 1 to row infinity in section 32. 2. I sometimes don't get word on when special Loyalist activities are. I admit I can't attend most of them, but I would still like to know when they are in case I can attend. 3. We need to figure out a way to get the rest of RES involved in the cheers. Where we are doing good: 1. We have unity and sense of purpose. 2. There doesn't seem to be any gossip tearing us apart. 3. We are the 12th man. The players love us.

We could probably use official cheer/song leaders. __________________
