MLS Open Cup

I'm not familiar with the cup. Do reserves play in this? Why are we playing teams outside MLS? It mentions the Minnesota Thunder and how they beat Chicago last year. I thought MLS was the top tier in the U.S. I'm still soccer illiterate.

That is easy. The probability is zero.

The Gold Cup is the CONCACAF Championship. CONCACAF is the Confederation of North, Central American, and Carribbean Football (hope I got that right). In short, national teams play in this.

The US Open cup is what Real has a shot at. This is a Cup open (in theory) to any U.S. team that can qualify, giving local amateur clubs a shot at playing pro teams. What are their chances? It depends on a lot of things...who Real decides to commit to the cup, who they match up against, etc. There are a lot of variables, but if Real took it seriously I think that a quarterfinals match is a real possibility.

The confusuion is understandable because the cups run concurrently.

I believe that you are thinking of Chivas. Crapids get an automatic spot.

If RSL beat Minnestoa they will play the Crapids.

Des Moines Menace is my Cinderlla team of choice. I would really like to see them beat K.C. if they beat Atlanta.

Jason and company are correct.
I was reading a article on the internet that was saying that the Eagles were going to play the CRapids. I guess they had bad sources too.

I don't know if someone else mentioned this already, but we might just see how crappy Chivas really is. I know Chivas beat RSL once, but that was a fluke and we all know it. If Chivas loses to some of the 2nd tier teams then I think we'll have our answer as to just how bad Chivas really is.

Does anyone know for sure if this is going to be on TV? I have checked the schedule and it doesn't list it, but at the end of MLS wrap for this week, they said that they would be broadcasting it. Maybe they will be doing it time delayed. Anyone know for sure?
