I am glad that we feel the need to set aside time (and forum space) to talk about developing the atmosphere here at rsl.org.
Unfortunately we have had some run ins recently that have had a taste of "BS".
In addition to the fine things already mentioned in this thread, I also would like to say we all need to take a breath before we post sometimes.
For example I am sure Jules's post are different depending on how her kids are acting up as she is viewing/posting on the forum. Maybe she says something in spite because Eli just spat all over here (again). Instead of firing right back, perhaps we could look at from he point of view (POV) and pause before we post a nasty reply. I have been guilty of that. I work 2 jobs and by the afternoons am far crankier than in the mornings.
Of course this is just an example, Jules being the pinnacle of great RSL posters.
Hopefully I made some sense and these words are something to ponder.

TIC also works to convey this meaning. TIC is tongue in cheek which means, this post was a big joke and i didn't mean any of it.

How about "FID", which means, "Fuegote is a dork?" :eyebrow:

Good thing you threw in the last lie, I mean line there, because I was about to be WAY ticked off!!! :verymad: 😉

(Notice the use of emoticons to indicate my lack of serious intent.)

Seriously, though, I have been known to take out my anger with something here at the forum, because I just can't afford to lose my temper with the person in question. Different moods do create different posts.

I have to say props to Aero for (mostly) keeping his cool and expressing dissent in a friendly manner. I've noticed that he is probably the most diplomatic one here in that he can voice a dissenting opinion without saying it too rudely. Many just shy away from conflict, and many attack head on.

I'm trying to be like Aero... (watching for the lightning bolts....)

I just took the emoticons way too far.

Just for the record, none of you are on my ignore list. I put myself on my ignore list because I can't stand to read my posts. I really offend myself. 🙂

Seriously, nobody here has offended me to the point that I need to ignore them. Old Ska and I had a disagreement about Cleetus but it didn't get into a personal attack thing. I think I understand better where he is coming from when he says that Cleetus should be taken out behind RES and shot and I think he knows where I'm coming from when I say that Cleetus is a demi-god. That's what intelligent discourse is all about, disagreements and argument backed with facts and evidence. When a person resorts to an ad hominem attack, I think that's a good indication that they've lost the argument.

WOW....I thought girls were bad. I personally enjoy reading it all. This has really been a great place to get info on everything Real. Thanks to those that have answered my ?'s...and yes, some of them are extremely stupid. The "discussions" can be quite entertaining, whether I agree or not. I, myself, feel like I would really miss out if I didn't agree to disagree with ppl. But, you know, I'm just a girl...a girly girl at that....what the hell do I know.
