Some off the record stuff was said the implicates that the kid took off as kind of a temper tantrum... he was mad at the other scouts and leaders. So he decided to make a point.


Obviously he wasn't hurting to badly... the kid was only in the hospital until they got him over some minor dehydration.

That being said I think the kid is stupid for doing what he did. But, I am very happy that his family has their son back. I don't have kids, but I can't even imagine what it would do to my parents if they thought I was dead... and then suddenly I was found alive. His family should be greatful his stupid stunt didn't cost him his life.
