That attitude will be missed on Wednesday....

Understand your point--we need passion out there--but I'm not sure if Mathis is the guy to get it done.

To be exact, that attitude is WHY he'll miss the game on Wednesday, since it's his mouth and his recklessness that got him the yellows in the first place.

We need that fury controlled and directed toward the opponent's goal. Anything else is a waste of oxygen.

The lively practice is encouraging. I know I always want my bball teams pissed off after a loss.

Tiger and Marlon were throwing each other around like rag dolls...

Jamie was run over a few times... by different defenders.

got a couple of pictures but they honestly look just like the set I did last week. 🙄

I may share some of the best ones later on...

Did you mention the thing that you told me about, or am I smoking crack again?

Oh yeah!!! thanks for the reminder.

i found out at practice to day that Jason Kreis got the morning off today because he has still not recovered from playing 90 minutes of soccer after wretching his guts out... he was apparently vomiting quite violently for most of the day in San Jose... and during the match.

So if Jason can show that much "intestinal fortitude" (bad pun but it seemed to fit)
The rest of the team has no excuse whatsoever!

That is at least one RSL lad that wants to play.

Respectfully, Rover, I believe the second one came from a rear tackle and not his mouth. Perhaps the exception to the rule, but I've thought that he might play it like that for a reason. If he can stay out of yellow trouble - or just ahead of it, to put it more accurately, and still be vocal in favor of the team (a yellow card here, and a yellow card there - but never consecutive games), perhaps he feels he's doing good out there. If that is the strategy, it doesn't seem to work sometimes.

That reminds me to vote for MOTM before the end of the day.

My point was that both types of fouls--reckless play and dissent--come from the same attitude that isn't helpful to the team in the long run. It certainly hasn't inspired better play.

The yellow in the Quakes game was for a reckless foul, as you point out. That's one side of the attitude.

The card in the LA game followed a simple foul. It didn't make the TV feed when I watched the replay, but I was in the stadium and it was ridiculous to see what he did. He walked to the official, brushed by him, and from where I was sitting appeared the say something. The ref, who was spotting the ball for LA's direct kick, immediately turned and flashed the yellow. That's a mouth problem, and does nothing for the team (a professional foul that draws a yellow at least stops a counterattack or the like).

Clint brings an attitude. We all know that. But he has to be smart about using it, and I haven't seen that.

If only he would use his power for good instead of evil!

Jamie reminds me a little of the 1998 Clint Mathis.
