I WISH the below would happen, but I doubt it: Fringe Fan: "Did those guys just knock me with a chant because I yell for chicken? Cool! I think I might like to continue coming to the games - better yet, maybe I'll join them!" __________________

I really don't think it matters what we chant at them. They usually can't tell what we are saying anyway, primarily because they don't care.

Speaking of chicken: When I first got to Brazil this family made some fried chicken for us. They asked me if I liked it and I said, "Sim", which means yes. I guess I wasn't very convincing so they asked me again and I said, "Sim, eu gosto de pollo", which is a combinantion of Portuguese and Spanish. Pollo is the Spanish word for chicken but frango is the Portuguese word for chicken. They couldn't figure out what I was trying to say, so I turned to my companion and told him in English. He said, "Oh, it's not pollo, it's frango." Well, then they start laughing because they thought I said, "polho" which is Portuguese for "louse". So, what they heard was, "Yes, I like lice." Needless to say, we all had a good laugh about it afterwards. What is this thread about again?

There will always be attendees who would rather everyone around them were quiet. We can't do anything about that.
With that said, I firmly believe RSL has had good attendance in part because of the atmosphere fostered by the more active and even confrontational fans. People who enjoy the energetic atmosphere will return. Those who want to wrap themselves in blankets for a grown up version of their children's game, then they'll fall to the side and be replaced by fans who care. I mentioned the blanket thing because I was yelled at by a man in a blanket who hadn't uttered a word or clapped his hands once the entire match.

You guys are getting waayyyy of the subject...........................talking about chicken?hahaha
Also, I don't see why you people from utah get so affended by vulgar remarks, and swear words. This is calcio!!!! You should be allowed to say whatever you want. If other fans don't want to participate, then let them act that way. They will soon loose interest, all who will be left is the people who really care about the matches and the team. I also know that I might have said some rude stuff in my intro post on here, but I am impressed with alot your answers. I thought that alot of you were trying to make the games seem more European, and yet it sounds like alot of you would like your own American style of soccer games. And yes, I know this is not Europe, so I can not expect alot of the things that I was hoping, like flares and ultra groups, like we have in my home land. Yes, it is very different here. No guards with shields walking around waiting for a ****y fan to strike. No fans throwing flares onto the pitch and swearing at the opposite team and their fans. No curva sud or nord. America is very different. These things are a part of soccer that I love, yet, I am willing to enjoy what we have. After all, I didn't think that Utah getting a pro soccer team was ever going to happen. At least not for a few more years. So lets keep up the good work with what the loyal fans are doing, and hopefully other fans will join in. I know I'll be at the game tommorow night. You know what's funny though? For alot of the people who are casual fans of soccer, I saw alot of Manchester United, Roma, River Plate, and Argentina jerseys at the games before. I find if funny that alot of those people don't cheer, and actually don't know anything about soccer, but yet they wear those jerseys. It is sooo hilarious. Oh well, I'll see you guys at the game tommorow. Good luck Real Salt Lake!!!! Hey maybe we should do some Italian or Spanish chants!? That would really throw off alot of people.haha!!!!
