Guys, knock it off. I would hate to see one of you to be the first one to be kicked off the forums.
Then you would be forced to go start your own forum or something... 😲

Most of us will give rep for a very informative post, or for a very entertaining post. We give rep for comments we like. Rep for pictures we like. Basically, if you like the post, more than most posts, then you give rep to the poster by clicking on the Check Mark/X box in the upper right hand corner of the post. You can also give negative rep, if you really didn't like the post. You can tell how much rep a person has by looking at the green squares. I think each square equals 100 rep points. As mentioned earlier, if a person has 5 squares and only 400 or so posts, then it's more likely to be something the others will like. If a person has only one square and 700 posts, then it's less likely to be interesting. Then you get the "begging for rep" posts. When I was two points away from my second square, I did a bit of begging, myself. I don't post much, and when I do it's usually something like, "Yeah, I agree." Hence I don't get much rep. So that's another reason for not having much rep. Also, if you hand out rep fairly freely, you're more likely to get rep in return. In my opinion, the rep still shows the quality of a persons posts, as most of the rep comes by way of the "normal" route. To see your rep and where it came from, go to the top of the screen and click on User CP. Then if you want, you can go beg for more, or not. I think the reason we get very little negative rep, is that we are all very nice people and tend to reward the good and ignore the bad. Also, we don't have a bunch of jerks in here who cuss and get obnoxious. I think if we did, they'd find out about negative rep very quickly. Hope that helps. __________________ 🙁 Is it gametime yet? 😉 Last edited by Jim Umber : 06-16-2005 at 07:48 PM.

Plus If you really don't like someone's posts. there's an ignore function.
Click on the person's name and click the link that says "add _____ to my ignore list" then you'll never see his posts. If you ignore me, you miss these classics __________________ When my mother was pregnant with me they did an ultrasound and found she was having twins. When they did another ultrasound a few weeks later they discovered that I had reabsorbed the other fetus. Do I regret this? No. I believe his tissue has made me stronger. I now have the strength of a grown man and a little baby. Last edited by fuegote : 06-16-2005 at 08:00 PM.
