Agree.

Sure, I want to see positive articles about RSL, but we are in a scoring drought and, more importantly, a losing streak.

I think the Rock article draws a very weak link between scoring goals and building a stadium. Even so, both he and Monson cover problems which actually exist with RSL.

That jumps out at me. These guys are covering soccer like it was a real sport--which it is, but you wouldn't know if from most sports pages in the past. These writers are responding to the great support the team has received, and at least in some ways they have accepted RSL and soccer as part of Salt Lake City and Utah.

So they may not be positive articles, but they're fair. Progress.

On the Clint Question--I don't think benching Mathis will help us. He's still the guy that other teams are most concerned about.

Yes you are right. I'm just saying maybe a game on the bench will help wake Clint up and get out of this slump.

Could be. Whatever it takes.

First of all it's not just LA that we've lost to.

Second, I’m thinking that Coach E is in more danger of losing his job if he loses fans because of no wins. Think about it. Are the fans coming to watch superstars that don’t live up to their hype or to see a winning team? Soccer already has the reputation of being a boring, low-scoring sport. New soccer fans do not know how good Clint use to be. They want to see a good team.

I don't think Checketts is as trigger happy as Chivas.
I say Ellinger, even with a losing record, lasts the season.

On that note though, I hope he stays.

I hope he stays for sure. The biggest asset he has is his familiarity with the young players in the country. We need to keep him around so that he can actually use that knowledge in the offseason and the draft. If we got rid of him before then, we would be throwing him away before we really used his greatest asset. I hope he is around for years to come. I can't imagine anyone better to have building a team of young talent that will be winning for a long time to come.

Is that really Rusty Pierce in the picture? I can't really tell by his face. I thought he was still too hurt to play, even in a reserve match.

That looks like Kreamelmeyer to me.

I can't tell anything by the look on his face, but Rusty used to have the same hair style as DJ and Dunny.

It is Kreamelmeyer in the photo!

I think it is way premature to be talking about firing Coach E.
It is only a 4 game losing streak.
It is an expansion team.
And Coach E is doing well. He is willing to make changes and experiment which is more than you can say about some coaches in soccer around the world.

I think Coach E will be here for several seasons... you can't build a family if you keep changing the dad!
