OK, I'm wrong. Found the T&T roster. Love Tiger's photo.

Today in practice, it looked like they were playing a 3-5-2 again. Or some variation of that. The lineup was:

---------Countess
Dunseth---Pope---Kamler
Brown--Cutler--Kreis--O'Brien--Williams
---Mathis---Washington

I couldn't really tell exactly how the midfield was distributed, but those were the five players playing there. Williams may have been more in the middle because he seemed to be in the middle of the field a lot, but was also out wide a lot. It may have been more a 3-2-3-2 formation.

One other thing about practice today. While practicing, they had a free kick from just outside the box that Mathis made a beautiful goal on. He really curled it beautifully around the wall and just inside the post. There is no way a keeper will stop that if he can do it in a game. It was the best shot I've seen him make all year, game or practice.

Hopefully, Cleetus is getting totally healthy and/or is getting motivated to start making plays like that all of the time. Whatever it was, it was a beautiful thing to behold. Here's to hoping that the Clint that scored 5 goals in a game is back.

Good info, Aero. Yeah, our "3-5-2" in the past has generally been more of a 3-2-3-2. It's got potential. Not sure how excited I am about having Cutler and O'brien as the "2", though. And where's T&T? Are they still out? Or just resting?

What are the chances that we DON'T see Watson come in? I think it's almost a guarantee.

Something tells me this is somewhat of a "play well, or ELSE" game for Mathis. And a crazy voice in my head is telling me that he'll come through. 1-1 draw, goal for Clint.

Both Tiger and Rojas were playing on the reserve side, so I'm not sure what is going on with them.

I totally agree, but only if they are down. Jamie said in his interview that he wouldn't mind staying on the bench if the lead was a couple of goals. I think that is the only way he stays on the bench. And frankly, I could live with that.

😲 What, are you crazy? 3-1 RSL! Goals from Kreis, Mathis and Trembly! 🙄 I told you before, I'm an optimist.

On the other hand, I admit that I could be off. It could turn out 4-1, with Watson scoring the fourth. :D

Am I the only one who sees this as a "must win" game? If we win, we keep our distance from the bottom and make San Jose sweat a lot. If we lose, cRapids are ready to use us as a footstool on their way up the rankings.

For some reason, I just remembered a certain unnamed Loyalist at the FC Dallas game... As soon as we lost, he start quietly singing, "Are we Chivas in disguise, in disguise, in disguise..."

I say this is a make or break week. If we lose and cRapids jump up over us, fan loyalty and team spirit are going to plummet. If we win, we're suddenly "in the mix" a little more and the unlucky streak is in the past.

I have no idea what I'm talking about, but psychologically, I think people are really teetering back and forth and this is a big decider.

I think you're on to something. Although it's not a "must win" in the literal sense, a loss would make it five in a row and drop us into the "expansion zone."

I say it's not truly a must win because we're not even halfway through the season--plenty of soccer left. But morale needs a boost, and for us to maintain momentum off the field we need a win on the field. With LA coming to town next week for a midweek game, we could definitely use a positive result against the Quakes.

Rover makes some good points. I think any win is a good win and I'll take it. Heck, I'd even be happy with a tie coming out of San Jose. San Jose hasn't been impressive of late so I think RSL could pull one out this week. As Rover stated, this will give us some much needed momentum; not just RSL, but the fans. I, for one, am tired of tuning in to the radio to hear the announcers bashing RSL's record. Okay, so maybe they are an expansion team, but they do have some stars such as Kreiss, Mathis, and Pope. I have faith in our guys, they're going to turn this season around, make the playoffs, and scare a few L.A.s, FC Dallases, and New Englands along the way.

SJ has a weak defense, I know they called in Gray from Fire, but still they are weak.
They have tied Chivas twice now. They have some good markers up top (I believe Ching might return tomorrow). But RSL can match them in the offense if our defense is up to speed. Pope, don't fail us now!!
