More likely than one who was not acquainted with the midwest might initially think.

Milwaukee already has the longest running professional soccer team in America.

The Milwaukee Wave United dropped out of the A League this season because they could draw just as many fans to their matches by playing only Milwaukee's top ethnic soccer clubs (and not having to travel). Milwaukee area sports investors already own big parts of teams like Queen's Park Rangers.

If Salt Lake City can do it, Milwaukee can, no question in my mind. (The metro Milwaukee area has more people than all of Utah, for example, and soccer has a much longer history there.) The key is getting all the right people in the right places. And now that Bud Selig doesn't own the Brewers anymore, he won't be around to try and thwart other major league sports in the city.

Sorry Ska, I actually feel Milwaukee has a better chance than Philly and St Louis but maybe not as good as Rochester. Uncle Garber keeps mentioning Cleveland, Detroit, Philly and St Louis but I never hear of an investor. At least Milwaukee has some money talking.

To be honest, I knew you were from the Wisconsin area and I wanted to see if you go off "pontifficating" if I said something negative about it. 😉

This would be Milwaukee's second shot at it, and it won't happen in 2006. But I think by 2010 Milwaukee will have a Major League outdoor team.

Also, no one would be chanting "3.2" or "Milwaukee...the beer here sucks" if a WCQ were held in our new stadium.

Honestly, that is kind of pitiful. You are never going to get a new job that way.

Vegas would be a disaster. I'm going to school at Nevada State and I can tell you this place is nortorious for not supporting anything local. UNLV sports have pathetic attendance. The baseball team can't give away tickets. Even the symphony is going bankrupt. The locals will not spend a penny on entertainment unless there is some special discount for having a NV ID. Plus, the game would have to be played indoors; nobody would go to an outdoor event in the summer here.
MLS need to be in places where it would be appreciated. Salt Lake is a perfect example of that. That is why my vote is for Rochester, Milwaukee, St. Louis, and why has nobedy mention Portland? Methinks Portland would be perfect.
