i reallllllllyyyyyyy doubt we would see something like that tomorow night. 4-4-2 for sure, just not in that lineup

---------DJ
pierce(/behnke)-dunny-akwari-rojas
--------basagno(/kamler, or the reverse of this)
Brown(/luke maybe? or tiger)----------trembly(/williams)
--------mathis
washington(/watson)----kreis(/cila)

no way will kreis be in the mid, i think we will see more of trembly and less of williams (probably a second half sub). expect basagno to be the lone d mid, but probably not for the LA game. i would expect to see kamler in that position for the LA game and pope will be back for saturday as well. no behnke. for the love of god i dont want to see behnke come saturday. i would expect to see a lot of subs for the UC game tomorow night. after half a lot of the main liners will proably come out and the younger guys will come in. cila, maybe laser luke, watson. crew made 6 subs in the game. the T & T boys will be back for this game right?

Plan on it, actually. Pierce is out with his hamstring injury for several weeks, fyi. Ellinger's been telling people that he wants Kreis to see more touches, and that's how he's going accomplish that. Also, he's noted that Williams was successful as a winger in Chicago, and he wants someone who can get his a$$ to the endline and cross the ball.

Personally, I don't like it that much, especially the idea of throwing Kamler into that troublesome left back position. Kamler's been one of the few players whose given us a lot this season, and now Ellinger's going to throw him out of position? Eh, who am I to say?

kreis, pretty much our only goal scorer in the middle? i believe it when i see it (or hear it on the radio for this case). i know williams will probably be a wing sub, i was wondering about pierce just wasnt sure (read in the paper both hams are hurting now, damnit that sux hes a good defender), hence the behnke sub. guess someone else will have to be a sub for the backline (maybe a sergio flores spotting? anybody mind seeing him out on the field 🙂 ) and behnke will get the start which makes me want to cry cuz he sucks all hell. i dont think kamler will start in the backline, unless basagno starts in dmid and is subbed out for a defender and kam moves into the dmid spot. kamler is basagnos pseudo mentor and i could see him in on the backline, but i could more likely see him coming off the bench for him. i doubt basagno will start the la game.

That's how the scrimmaged today, and Ellinger said he was very pleased with Kreis' new role.

Behnke hasn't exactly been the fan favorite to this point! 🙄 I'm guessing he'll be replaced by Pope for the LA game, assuming that Eddie isn't too tired.

As far as Besagno's concerned, we'll see how responds against Catholica on his own. Thought he played really well after the first half hour.

wow, i wonder if kreis sort of stepped forward (or backward in this case) and took on that role. it would eliminate some of the competition between mathis and williams for the spot. just doesnt make a lot of sense to take the only guy on our team that has more than 4 shots on goal and put him in a position to distribute more. maybe ellinger is looking for that other shooter on the team.

basagno did very well in his first ever pro game. i couldnt believe some of the criticism he got on BS after the game. his first pro game, 16 years old, in front of 35k fans, after an amazing WCQ game, against the best team in the west? and people sounded like he was a joke. i was actually happy he got that yellow, it showed to me that he wasnt going to take sh!t from the ref and the vet JOB he was working on busting his ass to get the ball. if he would have gotten that goal....man that would have been sweet. he did a good job though. i think hes going to be a great player for us in the future. cant wait to see some more of him as he gets adjusted to the system and other players. atleast now we will have some help for kamler. kamler has been working hard pretty much by himself.

by the way, does anyone know if this weekends game is going to be on tv?

good comments. I think we'll see Pope on Saturday. A tired Pope is 100x better than Behncke at any level.

lol! By the way, Sat.'s game will be on FSC and FSN...take your pick. Personally, I've been pleasantly surprised with Bill Reilly and his PbP. Then again, anything's better than those clowns on FSC :D !

sooooo true. i made a comment on BS about the little sequence of play in which behncke dribbled the ball into the middle third about 10-15 yards, bobbled it with his amazingly beautiful and soft touch 😉, got the ball stolen by a dallas player, than turned around and chased the guy down just so he could knock him to the ground and give up a free kick. made me want to throw up/cry. man im so glad we have him on our team, what would we do without him 🙄

a tired pope is infinitely better than behncke. i wonder if pope is anxious at all to get back to his wonderclub that has been shutout 3 weeks in a row by a combined 7-0. hes gotta be real pleased with the job the backline has done (with exception to a couple nice plays by dunseth and pierce).
