Brad Rock is on fire. He continues to write about footy. Has he seen the light?

Last week's USA-Costa Rica World Cup qualifier was billed as the biggest international event in Utah since the Olympics.
What about when the women’s team played here? Or was that not major enough?

That was a friendly, unfortunately.

Women v. Ireland drew 19K+
Men v. CR drew 40K+

Numbers and media build up would probably compare between the Jazz finals and WNBA finals (if they ever made the playoffs).

Agreed. The womens' friendly was neat and all, but this was a WCQ

I got a reply from Brad Rock. He says he's considered joining us "in the trenches" and will probably do that sometime soon. This is a chance for us to put our past in the.. well.. past and show this guy how fun soccer can be.

If anybody sees him there, don't boo him or give him the cold shoulder. Give him a nice loud cheer and make sure he gets a seat right in the middle of the action. Don't let the cheering die down, even if we're losing by five.

As I've said in the past, keep your friends close and your enemies closer. In this case, I don't think Brad Rock is anything close to the enemy we expected him to be. (How about Hatch? I wonder if he's being converted yet...) In fact, I think he's turning out to be a good ally.

I would like to add that several SL news reporters have been noticed viewing/posting on this very board. 😉
