Why do people see our game is such a big risk? The league is 10 years old, and some of the teams are now profitable.

I have a feeling that people like that won't ever be satisfied. I think he'd still be saying wait even if MLS had been around for 50 years.

Exactly, how long before RSL is established? 5 years? 10? 25? You either want to support it or you don't. I've got a feeling he'd never support it. The Jazz weren't publicly funded (even though I thought Miller got some help, not much but some) and weren't they pretty well established after 15 years?

He's not even concerned about RSL specifically. He is worried about the single entity model that MLS soccer uses and that has been around for 10 years now with every indication that it will be around for quite a while longer. That's why I don't think he'll ever be satisfied if 10 years isn't enough for him.

Which teams are profitable? I thought that only the Galaxy were making a profit. Am I mistaken?

Columbus breaks even, as I remember it.

Commonality? Each has their own Soccer Specific Stadium.

Okay only one or two teams, but still.

The point is that we have two more SSS coming online within the next year (Frisco in August, Bridgeview next April) and that likely means the same thing for FCD and the Fire (a real chance to be profitable).

And with single entity, each team that's profitable boosts the whole league.

Anyone who has followed MLS since its founding is astounded at how far we've come and how secure we now are. Others may not be able to see that, but more likely just haven't done their homework. Or they will oppose any support for a soccer team.

Well if I remember correctly the city gave him the land free of charge as well as huge tax breaks. But, he did "build" the entire Delta Center with private funding.

So lets see, I guess this guys is saying he only wants to give us free land and massive tax incentives... I could live with that.
