I find myself having a hard time singing and chanting during the second half. Does anyone have a suggestion that we can all use to keep our voices intact until at least the 90th minute?

second half?? My voice was gone after about 4 minutes. It was right around the first "Forrest Whitaker called, he wants his M.O. back" that my voice started cracking.

I think I just notice it more in the second half because we slow down for a few minutes.

I have the same problem. I hear that singers use lemon juice to "lube" their vocal chords before a performance. Perhaps we can do the same thing? Mine starts to go in the first half as well. Since I'm a church goer, it really wreaks havoc on the hymn singing the day after - so something's got to be done! :D

The midweek game was a bit rough for my teaching the next day.

I'm just hoping that continued use (abuse?) of my vocal chords will lead to a stronger, louder voice. I hope that I'm not causing permanent damage! 😉

I've thought about trying throat lozenges or life savers or something to coat my throat during half time, or earlier if I notice my mouth getting too dry.

😎

Best I can do is remind you that you are not the only one chanting or singing and you don't have to carry the whole thing alone. Sing like you're part of a group, instead of a loner. Also, sing like you're just having fun with the group, 🙂 instead of trying to shame the ref. 😠

Hope that helps. Probably won't. 🙄

I have fun with the group and yell at the refs the entire match, plus a clang a cowbell, and my voice is doing just fine. It's just building up your stamina. So if you can handle both, I say do it!

Cheer the team, shame the ref, I'm salt lake til I die.

Just a singers trick I learned in Madrigals. Warm water with just a little bit of lemon juice and possibly some honey.

I can see it now, all the Loyalists carrying around a little water bottle :p
