Actually when I see their red and/or white jersey, I see Middlesborough.

Please help a newbie. Forest Fan? Uruguay shirts?

I can't help you on Forest Fan, but Lazio and Uruguay both wear a light blue as their primary jersey color. The Fire have worn that this season as an alternate jersey, but they didn't continue that experiment tonight.

I just remembered an odd stray thought I had during the game. I used to like the wave.

Don't you love how Euros refer to it as the Mexican wave because Mexico City '86 was the first time any of them had seen it. Of course American sports fans can claim credit for it.

Thus ends my collection of odd stray thoughts for the evening, I hope. :o

The great mysteries of life. My unsophisticated take:

1. Uruguay and Lazio actually win in the baby blue. It's easier to look cool when you win.

2. Chicago takes their third strip from the city flag. Who even knows what a city flag looks like? Who cares?

3. They use the four red stars from the City of Chicao flag on the baby blues. That's right, four stars. They've only got on MLS Cup in the trophy case. DC can put four stars on their uniform, but no one else in MLS can. Until we win our fourth, of course.

I can't believe I took th time to post this. I'm taking the loss way too hard.

As this is the first time we have had to deal with a home loss, I think it is to be expected. I just pray that we don't have to get used to home losses.

I think it is kind of cool that they incorporate the city flag into their uniform scheme. Of course I would prefer the European model where a city of that size would have multiple teams and none of them could monopolize city symbols. I know, baby steps first. 🙁

Forest Fan taught us the "I'm Salt Lake til I die" song.

He also taught the Blitzz Supporters' Club such classics as "In Your (Name of Visiting Team Here) Home" and "Same Old (Visiting Team), Always Diving".

(

Since I live in San Diego, the only RSL game I've attended in person was our 1-3 loss to the Galaxy on 9 April. So I've yet to see us win in person.

I couldn't make our game against the cheetos at the HDC, and that's a good thing considering how it ended up.

So sure, we can't expect to win the all. Nobody likes losing, but this latest loss was the soccer equivalent of a root canal. The loss to Columbus wasn't much better.

And next comes FCD, and we'll have another reshuffled back four. Sure would be a good thing for the midfield to step up.

Was Williams as bad as the callers on the post-game show said he was? How 'bout Behnke? Man I miss Pope.
