Another Idea: Colored Paper

Another cool thing they do in Euro stadia is to hold up colored papers. Sometimes it's all one big mass, sometimes they spell things, etc...

Sorry to link to BS thread but here are some examples

It would be easy to do, we just buy a bunch of reams of colored paper, and put one under each seat or something... hopefully everyone would participate.

Waddya think?

That's really kool, It would be fun to setup too, we would just need enough people in the stadium to make it look nice. I hear season openers are usually crowded, maybe we can plan something for the first home game.

👍

Yeah. That would also grab the cameramen's attention. More publicity for the Loyalists. Great idea!

Another idea for my colored paper scheme is to print on each one "Hold up this paper when the clock hits 15:00" or something, that way we could coordinate the whole thing. Maybe we could do three sections, one red, one yellow and one blue.

Here's a good example, I'm sure you've seen many more... they are doing nothing more than holding up a piece of colored paper.

Geez.

I'll bet we could figure out how to do two different images, by flipping over the papers we hold.

What do you think is the smallest sized paper we can use per person and still have it look good?

That's a good question... we can see from the above picture that the size is definitely larger than 8.5x11. I wonder how much more it would cost to get a ream of larger paper.

I do think that whatever we decide to do, let's make our home opener a huge one. Many people will be checking it out just because it's the first game. If we can make a great impression on people, they'll be back like the sandpeople (in greater numbers).

I'll look around at paper costs/sized etc..

Ok, from Office Depot:

Ream of 500 Goldenrod papers:

8.5x11 costs $5.96 per ream, or $5.40 if we buy 3 or more
8.5x14 costs $7.48 per ream, or $6.70 if we buy 3 or more

Blue and Red paper is not sold by ream, but has good sizing:

9x12 inches costs $1.10 per 50 pages.
12x18 inches costs $2.20 per 50 pages.

Suppose we did a three-colored area of 3000 people.
1000 sheets of yellow at the bigger size = $14.96
1000 sheets of blue at the bigger size = $44.00
1000 sheets of red at the bigger size = $44.00

total = $102.96, maybe a tad much

Suppose we did the same but more economically:
1000 sheets of yellow at smaller size = $11.92
1000 sheets of blue at smaller size = $22.00
1000 sheets of red at smaller size = $22.00

total = $55.92. Not bad, if we found like 10 or 15 people to go in on it, or if we used Loyalist funds (Loyal1?)

I saw these rolls of paper and the seemed to be a decent price at $27.53 for 4'x200'. However since are colors are all loopy it's going to be hard to fine exact matches. If we had a few rolls we could have some fun.
