Post Game I dont post much but I just got back so I guess I'll post what I saw. First half was awful. The starters just done seem to care. Mathis rarely does anything, Kreis plays hard but nevers gets the ball, I'm not sure what to say about Williams sometimes he is playing hard and others he just does not seem to care. The two goals were both nice but could have been stopped if someone would step up or stop the counter. We have serious problems with the counter both with stopping and executing our own. There just seemed to be a lack of hussle.
The second half was the tale of a diffrent team. The defence stayed the same with exception of Knowles coming in for Dusenth. Everything else was changed. Brown stayed and Wasington stayed until the 70th. Obrien played really well. He moves the ball extremely well. I'm not sure he took more then one dribble in the entire half. Just lots of one and two touch balls. The increase in the pace of the game made us look better. When Watson came in the 70th we started to look really good. He has good speed and plays hard. His passes were good. He set up all the goals and earned the PK. He needs to play alot more. The backups cared to play and won all the 50-50 balls. They looked much better and the hussle could win alot of games. I'm hoping it will light a fire on some of the starters. I'm off

I notice that the North goal still remains un-scored in by us.
But at least we finally won on grass :p BTW: Did anyone see channel 5? Who was that that got Jamie in the face with the plate full or whipped cream or shaving cream (or whatever that was)? Pretty funny. __________________ Major league soccer, minor league refs... “No cake for you…you’re useless.” Last edited by HibaIssa : 06-08-2005 at 10:57 PM.

Missed it on 5, but saw it in person... Dunny couldn't stop laughing. Every good rookie gets the shaving cream, I think. The vets just have to embarass you on TV and they did a great job.

Also, our own Loyal1 ended up with a nice little piece of memorabilia (Jamie Watsons jersey)... I can't think of anyone who deserves it more.

Well, I might be jumping on the sit the starters and let the other guys have a chance bandwagon. Two totally different halves. In the first half there was no moving the ball forward at all, and players were not running into open spaces. We looked slow, and really couldn't get anything going. The second half however, different story. I was really impressed with Dipsy (he hustled, and continually moved the ball forward). Infact, the team as a whole did a much better job in both of these aspects.
While I don't feel that the reserves are truely better than the starters, tonight goes to show that heart and hustle can go a long way, and in some cases can overcome what may be a lack of talent (comparatively speaking) So I say give some of the lesser knowns a chance, and see if this might light a fire in some of the veterans. Heck, after watching just over 400 minutes of scoreless play it couldn't hurt.

Thanks for the report.
Any chance that Catolica played their 3rd deep benchwarmers in the 2nd half and thats why RSL did better? Wish I had been there. I called Glenn and Steve at the half and they were depressed. Glad things turn out for the best.
