Brian Dunseth

Salt Lake City loves Brian Dunseth. He was the man to talk about after his game-winning goal against the Colorado Rapids, and the Loyalists overwhelmingly named him Man of the Match for the April 16th game.

The Loyalists weren’t the only ones cheering for “Dunny” (or "Dreamboat Dunseth") at the match. An overflowing Rice-Eccles stadium was home to over 25,000 fans at the franchise’s historical first home game. The entire crowd, praised by the media as being very soccer-savvy, was on its feet and yelling wildly as Dunseth’s goal hit the net.

Dunseth was also praised for his strong defensive work during the match. Loyalists at the game commented that they might have voted him Man of the Match even if he hadn’t scored. Scoring for the team was merely icing on the cake.
