RSL/Galaxy Watch Party!

OK Folks we are confirmed for Saturday night at Iggy's - Downtown.
We are going to see RSL on 5 screens again but this time RSL will be on the 1 big (7 foot) screen.

We have the room from 6pm so we can have a Loyalist meeting from 6-7:30
The match starts at 8pm on KSL, pregame at 7:30.

Iggy's has offered to host all televised away matches for us... I say Iggy's is our new home for away matches, barring any major objections.
Unfortunately as of now they do not have Direct Kick but if turn out and demand are good they will get it! So let's make it a win/win for the Loyalists and Iggy's and get as many ppl in the door as possible!

Thanks to everyone that showed up Saturday night! Iggy's staff were impressed with us and they look forward to taking care of us the entire season!

Viva Real and thanks Iggy's

Dumb question:

Downtown Iggy's, right?

Not Jordan Landing?

I wish we'd chosen something outside of downtown (No, really, I'm NOT a downtown hater. Just a selfish UCite.) But if everybody was pleased with it and they love us, I can't complain very much. Publicly, at least. (grumble grumble)

WAS everybody truly pleased with the venue, putting aside the excitement that the first match is bound to determine no matter what? The food was good? Pricing was okay? The place was clean? What's the parking situation?

I'm just trying to bring up some points that should be considered (I wasn't there so I can't give any input) before committing to something for the rest of the season and probably even longer than that!

Not trying to jump all over you jules because you have a valid concern... one that is worthy of debate!
I will say this tho...
Every other place slammed the door on us before we could even finish a sentence. Iggy's was the only place that would give us a space to watch the match!

To me that means alot cos they were packed on Saturday night and could have easily kicked us to the curb and made room for the NCAA fans that would have been happy to take our room!

Dave the manager at Iggy's Downtown took a chance on us when no one else would, and at the risk of pun abuse, they earned my loyalty! We were an unknown quantity going up against one of there biggest weekends. Dave told me that the Super Bowl is the only weekend bigger than Final 4 so he gave up revenue to accomodate us!

The venue is very nice, clean and relatively inexpensive.
I had dinner and drinks all night and got out with paying under $15.00 (gratuity included) so for 4 hours of entertainment with dinner that is a steal!

I am sure that others will agree that the venue was top notch and they really took care of us!

Others may come along and offer a better deal to us but where were they when we were looking for a place to watch the match! I say Iggy's Downtown earned our business, my vote will always be with Iggy's-Downtown!

I don't feel I owe them my business, however I do think that they earned it!

I looked at their menu online and it actually seemed pretty extensive... were I not the Loch Ness Monster and didn't actually exist, I would be tempted to eat food there. :D

This is pretty much how I feel also. They were there for us when no one else would. I would feel as if I were personally betraying them by going anywhere else now.

"Segregated" watch parties are not without precedent.

We OC fans did not want to drive through LA traffic to a watch party for a midweek Thrillfest when the Galaxy was away to Kansas City and LA residents sure as heck weren't going to go Behind The Orange Curtain.

So we watched at The National in Fullerton and the rest watched in LA.

Sounds like Iggy's is the place then.

Which means an additional topic of conversation for this thread might need to be the UC carpool committee.

I can probably drive and my car seats 5. And I'm coming from the south-side (yo yo), so I can pick up the scraps on my way up. Anyone interested?

Hey I'm not at Iggys hater (Just so's ya know, Deuce). Just trying to take an objective stance since I haven't been there yet.

Bordy (that's so weird to say when I know your real name.... Anyway...) I've already discussed the possibility and have some tentative yes's from myself, my sister, scilaci + his wife and czar jake. So let's get this goin' on!
