❓ How does Rep Work? How does rep work? Just curious. I give out a lot of positive rep does that make it less valuable? I don't have a lot of rep. Does that make my rep givin less valuable? Just checking. thanks.

Basically this is how it works:
Every once in awhile a thread like this comes along, and everyone reps each other like mad. And, no, it doesn't make it less valuable. Although I've noticed some people's "rep" is worth 2 rep points, possibly because of their "rep" level.

How do you give rep? All this time I thought it was a fictional thing..... :D

Okay... so I'm "on a distinguished road" and Bordelais "will be famous soon enough". Has anyone gotten beyond the first two levels as it were? I sound like a video game geek. sheesh. 🙄
PS This isn't a plea for more rep... but I could always use it. :p (thanks bordy7)

It's different on every forum. On "The Other Forum" you start out as an "unknown quantity" and have to work your way up to the "distinguished road."
Admins and moderators have rep worth more than us lowly folks.

For example, 5 people have already thrown rep my way for this thread, and I don't really know why. I mean, I know you all really love me, but this is just too touching. *sniff*

Poor saps like me have to earn rep the hard way! You know...by... errr... whatever! We can't depend on our good looks like you can! Wait a second...

In the upper right hand corner of each post, you can see the post number in the thread and then there is a little thing that looks like a checkmark. Click that to give rep to someone. Just remember to sign your name in the note you leave so that people will know who the rep is coming from. There is no way to tell if you don't.
